What if you just made 1 team, based it on the state of the college they played in like Nos said, and you can only pick from any state once? I know you guys don't like subs but maybe expand the roster size a little for just this one to make it more of a challenge?

Yea 30 picks is 60% of the States. Allows for the smaller states to still get their studs in but not forcing people to take boring players.

Problem with making a bench is people discount it then and many look at starters which is fair...unless we did like a 1st half - 2nd half thing like we do for NBA.

We would do 11 starters on offense and defense for each half - 44 total. A little wiggle room bc you wouldn't use 6 states...

I like the amount of subs we had in our little h2h thing when we went 15 O/15 D - allowed for different looks / packages on both sides of ball..for me personally if two teams were close I would def look at that as a tie breaker, but I understand you guys have prob been down that road and you are speaking from the group experience with subs

Or we could make it the 15 on O and 15 on D like you said and those 3 subs for each side of the ball have to play one half but if the guys don't like this idea we can move to a different idea...

I don't think you guys have done a NFL Salary Cap yet...this is the expanded version....

How about a $250 cap, no designation for HOF, which allows for current great players.
League MVP $40(only charged once for multiple winners)
OPOY $30
DPOY $30
All Pro $3 per
Pro Bowl $1 per

You don't combine categories, you take highest number from one. Example, Player A was a League MVP, 8 time All Pro, 14 time Pro Bowler. He gets $40 for MVP, $24 for AP, 14 for PB, so his cap hit is $40


Player has to have played at least 60 games to be eligible.

I want to do the states idea to mix but it doesn't seem very challenging when you don't have to use 20 states

yeah I'm kind of in this same boat - work and kids have me running so not as much time to put research into the deeper drafts

in regards to your bust idea I actually did one once a few years back....I was on vacation visiting my family up in MASS and got baked to high heavens with my buddy in my parents basement - we started digging through all my old basketball cards and ended up having a draft where we made the worst team possible from the cards We had a blast so I think it could be fun in the right setting, just not sure how a full 10 or 12 team draft of it would play out. Plus having the pictures of these guys from the cards to go off is a big part of why it was so funny/fun
