hope not that would leave a void that some team I don't care for might fill.

Interesting take. May have merit. Imagine being a 5*recruited to the same school by 2-3 different coaches. Guess what? You now have to research the coach. If you want to play in the NFL, development matters, many 5*s are drafted after well developed 3*s. Having said that, Saban is the greatest head CFB coach ever IMO. His attention to detail and adaptability as the game changed are unsurpassed. Pretty sure that assistants are on a short leash until they prove themselves...

With all of the coaches at the Lost Coaches Ranch, Saban should develop a "Playoff Staff" to take over when the other Coaches take other jobs instead of having them do double duty with that new job hanging over their head.

Just like a practice squad, the "Playoff Staff" can concentrate on scouting / coaching strategies of the other top contenders throughout the year. This "Playoff Staff" would only be made up of Coaches not looking to move on.

The logic here is a bit strange. 1 five star kid committed elsewhere (to a team that finished 14th in the recruiting rankings) and that spells trouble for Alabama? No mention of the fact that they signed the #1 class again last year, signed 3 other five star kids and TWENTY THREE four star kids. They signed 12 kids in the top 100.

As far as coaching staff changes. I can't remember a time since Alabama saw success where they weren't consistently losing assistants.

It's hard to win national titles and Alabama has lost NC games before. I think they'll stay where they are until Saban retires or something dramatic happens like if some NCAA violation is found.

Sounds to me like Finbaum is looking for ratings and stirring the pot. This should keep the lines hopping for a couple of weeks.

Alabama isn't going anywhere. The only threat might be the rise of Florida, Georgia, and Texas A&M in the SEC to finally give Bama competition in both recruiting and on the field.

Yeah...I was just going to say until some SEC teams rise up and slap them around they will continue to be a fixture in the CFP.

The recruiting aspect is the key IMHO. If Bama continues to bring in the talent they have during Saban's run, they'll be okay. Talent can cover up a world of coaching sins. Not all of 'em but a lot of 'em.
