It's been a while since I can recall a White Sox player getting an endorsement video. I remember Frank had Reebok commercials and he had his video game Big Hurt Baseball. Konerko was in that weird ESPN commercial, which wasn't an endorsement. Just don't see Sox players in national media often:

I'm obviously responding to you several days after your post, and agree with you about Nova, but his outing against the Astros gave me some hope and a brief glimpse of his above average quality he is capable of.

Giolito has been ace-like. The best team in baseball was baffled by his slider last night. Cease should absolutely not be rushed. Agree with you 100% there. Considering the timetables for Kopech and Rodon, might as well not rush Cease at all. Maybe late season call up for the most limited of mound experience. Not even a cup of coffee. Just a shot of espresso.

Nova only surrendering 3 runs was a bit of a mirage. He gave up 10 hits with a walk and got hit very hard. A lot of luck involved. I mean... he surrendered 9 runs to Toronto the start prior.

I hope you're right, though. He's been a league average to slightly above average starting pitcher in the majors for 10 years. I hope he didn't fall off this violently in one off-season, but he is 32 and these things can happen.

Ozzie was a media darling and got a lot of attention.

Buehrle also was a guy who would pop-up a lot from what I recall. I believe he appeared in a couple of ads.

About all I have to add on. There's no doubt that the White Sox disappear from the national media unless they're serious contenders.

On a side note, watching the Mets play the Tigers here in Detroit. Todd Frazier is so laughably bad. I can't believe we got anything for him in a trade. That dude does not belong in the majors at this point and is still batting 3rd every day for a big league ball club.

Speaking of Frazier, did you see that he and Eaton hate each other? Guillen even brought that up the other day saying no one liked Eaton.

It's so damn weird to me that apparently both of those guys are world class assholes. Frazier was always painted as this "every man" regular Joe, down to Earth, family man... etc... While Eaton was a fan-favorite, seemingly fun loving and energetic/high-motor ball player.

Frazier seems like a legit douchebag. Blocking everyone on twitter, calling announcers who even remotely criticize him on one play "idiots" and getting in shouting matches with home fans at Citi Field. Talking shit for apparently no reason to Eaton as he runs away from him and then acts tough when somebody "holds him back". He just seems like a hot headed, immature teenager.

And I mean... Eaton doesn't come off much better in this. Plus, if Ozzie says no one liked a player in the clubhouse - I tend to believe him.

Weird... This storyline is so random and stupid. Never suspected those two players were like this.

Lol... Fuckin Hawk. What an ass... I didn't even know about that at the time.

Not a big B&B fan, though. Their whole "Can you believe how stupid every single person besides us is!?" shtick just wears me out.

"How unbelievably stupid is (insert person here that we're talking about)!? We must now repeat this over and over for an entire segment! Making jokes that mostly don't land and then tag them with other jokes on top of it! Riffing back and forth repeating a different version of the previous joke!"... Alright, Jesus... we got it. Those two absolutely love to bathe in the stench of their own farts. The worst is when they feign moral outrage too - like when they talked about how if you keep Adrian Peterson on your fantasy football team after it was found out he hits his kid as punishment that you're somehow scum.

Ugh... sorry. Not a fan.

Is Colome for real or is this short sample size still?

I’d say this is legit. He had 40 saves with the Rays not too long ago.
Colome at least so far is completely legit, as in season long legit. Herrera OTOH who was supposed to be the key set up guy to Colome and spot closer, has been a complete bust.

Agreed. Herrera is being paid quite well for his lack of production to date. Hopefully he shores up.

Taking 3 of 4 from Cleveland today and seeing Giolito hurl another gem would be a nice way to wrap up a good week of White Sox baseball.

Draft coming up. Hopefully Nick Hostetler has a solid game plan. Pretty sure he was spot on with Madrigal last year.

The three names being tossed around the most for the Sox are 1b Andrew Vaughn, CS JJ Abrams, and OF JJ Bleday.

*Abrams is the only high schooler of the three, but also seems to carry the highest upside.
*Vaughn has the most power and is surprisingly disciplined at the plate, with a higher BB-SO ratio, almost unheard of in a power hitter. Unfortunately, he's strictly a 1st baseman.
*Bleday is a good defensive OF, strong arm, good power, and hits to all fields for both average and power.

For the longest time I was set on Vaughn, but I'm beginning to inch toward Bleday. I just like his overall package a bit better than the other two.

If Cy Youngs were given out in early June, Giolito would win it. They don't, do they?
