I was not in favor of acquiring Amari Cooper and I wonder now if those who were in favor of getting him now feel as if that was an opportunity missed to improve this unit.

BTW: has anyone who stood against getting Cooper changed their mind in hindsight?

No. Because now it’s time to pay him and he’s asking for highest paid

Not in the least bit and after the draft I am more thankful than ever. If we got Cooper, we don’t get Haskins, and we are saddled with a contract we should never pay for three great games each season.

Good point, I wasn't in favor of going after him, just wanted to know how others stood in hindsight.

Agree & if they fall short this season then you simply draft top notch WRs in the next draft. Nobody should assume that all of the Skins problems will be solved in one offseason.
Damn, you realize we have been saying that for close to 20 years?

Very true. However if this draft pans out - odds are good for that - then that will be multiple good drafts & the appearance of a solid personnel office (& Allen appearing to have less & less to do with those moves). That would make it likely that they find more solid WRs next offseason & not simply the next Doctson, Pryor, Malcolm Kelly, etc. We will see.

BTW j_y - take a look at their track record for drafting WRs in the Snyder era - yikes! Very, very few WRs taken in the first 3 rds & typically when they were taken they were non factors or worse. You have Doctson, the Kelly/Thomas disaster in 08, mediocre Hankerson, Gator Taylor Jacobs, etc, etc.

These are mainly bad moves made by bad personnel folks. The current personnel folks appear to know what they are doing. Let's hope that is the case & they retain these folks & confine Allen to primarily PR & Admin functions. If that is not the case then we are back to gloom and doom.

That is ugly. Real ugly.

On another note, is it fair to judge Scot M at this point on his draft prowess while here? It wasn't good.
