That's kicking the can. Dallas did this for years, and the bill eventually came due. The bill will come due for the Eagles too and the Eagles will have to financially act like the Bengals for a few years.

No, I've said this for a while. Unlike Moose I do think some RBs are worthy of a high pick. Not #4 like Zeke was but I had no problem with him at 4 after the draft. I just don't want to pay a guy 13 to 15M when I can get close to his production from another back. Dallas didn't see a big drop in rush yards with Morris when Zeke sat during his suspension, T. Smith being out made the biggest difference during that stretch.
If Zeke wants his deserved TOP Dollar (I think he will) I look elsewhere.

Exactly this. I have no problems with Howie "kicking the can down the road" while in win-now mode, then dealing with it later during rebuilding years if that's what it comes to. If it brings a Super Bowl (which it already has) or two, then it's well worth it, and I won't care if we have to suffer through rebuilding for a while to do it again. The fact that Cowboys fans have been reduced to obsessing over the Eagles cap situation because they haven't had anything noteworthy to celebrate for 20 years is funny stuff though.

Dak was having a down year even before Zekes suspension.
Maybe the talk of suspension had something to do with that.
