Damn dude ran a 4.48 forty

UNC linebacker Cole Holcomb, who led the Tar Heels the last three seasons, could sneak into the draft as a late round pick.

Holcomb participated in the East-West All-Star Game in Tampa Fla. and a regional combine in Kansas City, Mo. He was not invited to the NFL Combine, so Monday's UNC Pro Day was particularly important. The 6-1, 235-pound linebacker impressed on Monday with a 4.48 40-yard dash, 4.18 shuttle, 6.77 three-cone, 11-foot broad jump, and 22 bench press reps, according to reporter Eric Edholm.

COLE HOLCOMBLB, WASHINGTON REDSKINS
https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/player/51816/cole-holcomb
Redskins selected North Carolina LB Cole Holcomb with the No. 173 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Holcomb (6’1/234) arrived at UNC as a walk-on and went on to start 34 games, leading the Tar Heels in tackles in each of his final three seasons and graduating with 15.5 career tackles for loss and four forced fumbles. He was a second-team All-ACC pick as a senior. Snubbed for a Combine invite, Holcomb put himself squarely on the NFL’s draft radar with a 4.48 forty and highly explosive 11-foot broad jump at UNC’s Pro Day. Holcomb’s floor is a gung-ho special teamer with a chance to develop into a three-down linebacker based on his instincts, sure tackling, and elite athleticism.

I'm gonna say he will compete for the other starting spot next to Reuben Foster

I doubt it. The job is SDH’s.
I think the Skins needed to upgrade the speed there. SDH is a smart tough little player but a bit limited. Holcomb's probably going to be an upgrade. Gotta upgrade team speed. Sweat and Holcomb do that... and Rueben Foster. SDH can be good depth. Now we can defend underneath passing and blitz from different areas.

Holcomb is fast but he has to work on disengaging from blocks. He does have a nose for the ball but I think SDH does too.

Seems like a plus all around for this team, good competition for jobs is always a plus!

You do realize SDH ran a 4.65 out of HS and players don’t get slower at Alabama?
