The other thread I created is a season thread. Thought it would be nice to consolidate the entire season in one thread... that has been on-going since the Angels series.

Been busy the last few months with a bunch of things, including work sched, but had to pop in tonight to finally chime in on this one...

I remember some time before the season started, the local papers were saying not to expect much this season or next while the roster was getting overhauled.

I'm starting to wonder if someone got their hands on a copy of that Times article and said, "You know what? Time to make 'em rewrite their words!"...

I didn't know what to expect out of this season, but so far, only twelve games in, I only see a fraction of what I expected. The only difference, obviously, is the bats, which are hotter now than they'd been in years! The best run differential in the MLB (after the Dodgers' loss tonight) is also pretty damned impressive!

I know I'm usually wary of this, and I do see that we still have our trouble spots on defense and with some pitching, but the way they're making up for it right now? Jaw...freaking...DROPPED.

Great, now I gotta change my av for the first time in ages... XD

It's one thing to swing the bat well and it's another to swing the bat well on certain pitch counts. A lot of these guys are smashing the baseball at 1-2, 2-2, and 3-2 counts too. This simply tells me they are all locked in right now and it doesn't really matter what pitch count they have to deal with. This puts the opposing pitcher at a huge disadvantage when the lineup hits like this with 2 strikes.

I know it's only 13 games, and I know the torrid pace on offense can't keep up for an entire season, but right now the M's are on pace to hit 411 home runs and score 1296 runs. Why is no one nationally talking about them? Can you imagine if it was the Yankees or Red Sox doing this? That's all anyone would be talking about. But it's the M's so crickets.
