He is a lot better than you give him credit for though.

And he used to be a pretty proficient shooter.

There are 3 forward/centers in the entire NBA on dray's level as a playmaker and they are all MVP candidates (LeBron, Giannis, Jokic). When you combine the work ethic, the drive and the unique skill set, you have a special player.

While I don't think he is good enough to lead a random bad team to the playoffs as their star, I also think he is the type of player that can lead a locker room and change a culture. Put him on Phoenix and they are probably contentending for a playoff spot instead of Zion because they have some talent already and Draymond brings them everything they lack: toughness, defense, ball handling
And I think you overvalue him. Maybe we'll see what happens if he overvalues himself and leaves for the most money.

Lebron, Giannis and Jokic are all better scorers than Green.....first 2 astronomically better.

Not being able to control one's emotions is not toughness. Fake toughness to me. agree to disagree.

You saying Draymond doesn't bring toughness to the Warrior locker room?

I get why people don't like his antics. Hell, I don't either. Wish he would stop complaining to refs so much. But dude is as tough as they come and has had to be his entire life. You don't win DPOY as a 6'7"big man with average NBA athleticism if you aren't tough.

Dray has won and won big on every level. Saying he is "fake tough" is every bit as silly as trying to compare him to Larry Nance JR.

sorry .......not able to control emotions does not = tough to me.

And "I'd like to see what Nance could do in his role in GS" is not outrageous.

Kevin Love has led the league in rebounds at 6-10 with what most call below average NBA athleticism and not only does no one call him tough, but he is called soft by many.

Perspective.

Larry Nance wouldn't play Draymond's role though. He would play Looney's. I believe he is better than Looney, but again, there is no comparison to Green.

Kevin Love's uncle was a Beach Boy for christ sake.

That's what I'd have thought before seeing Nance play a more Green-like role this season....and play it well. And with lesser teammates.

The Beach Boy Uncle probably is soft.....or maybe he's tough as he can say his nephew is a rebound leader in the NBA.

Last thing I will say about this ridiculous topic:

Draymond Green is such a good ball handler, that the Warriors willingly take the ball out of Curry and KD's hands (2 legit superstars and top 5 overall players) to let Draymond initiate offense.

Do you honestly believe that they would even consider doing that with Larry Nance? A guy who barely averaged 15 minutes a game in the playoffs last year and even fell out of the rotation for a few games?

wouldn't have before this season, but now, yes, they might.

But, hey, he yells and screams and kicks guys so he must be tough, while the quiet rebound leader is soft.

Nobody would even talk about green if he wasn't on GS. In fact the collective group of GS is only great by having more all stars than any other team, individually they really never stacked up and we all saw what happened when they didn't have an extra superstar...they lost

I have said a lot of negative things about Kevin Love. Don't think I have ever called him soft though.

But who you got in a no rules cage match? Love or Draymond?

I do think Curry and KD are superstars. Klay a very good player and Green is certainly a good player. Klay and Green just perfect for that team as you allude.

And to Lance from what I can tell most of Green initiating offense is passing from top of key or near FT line and helping others know where to go. He is a smart player....much like Nance.

You are crazy if you actually believe that.

Because a player averages 3 assists a game on a 13 win team, he gets to take possessions away from 2 of the best offesnive players on the planet?

No chance in hell.

I would take the guy who weighs 30 pounds more and has 3 inches on him with a longer wing span

absolutely...as that is apparently how GS' offense works best. with the scorers moving around without the ball. Are you thinking Green works the O like Lebron or something?

I could certainly see why the vast majority would think Green - and I don't necessarily disagree - but who the hell knows?

Because he's quiet and not a nutjob does not mean he couldn't take care of himself in a fight if he needed to.
But the idea an NBA rebound leader is soft is comical, while Green is automatically tough because he can yell, kick people and not control his emotions.

No. Because I actually watch them play and understand the game of basketball.

I feel like you are making player comparisons based entirely off the stat sheet and not how these guys actually play. There is no comparison between the way LeBron plays and the way Green plays, just as there is no comparison between Nance and Green. So far out of the blue it is ridiculous.

Kevon Looney would be asked to do a lot more on a 13 win Cav team with their starting center hurt also. Nance'a skill set is nothing remotely like Dray's.

Yeah, I have heard quite a few negative comments about Love on here. Hell, I have made more than my share.

But, most have been simple reality check posts aimed at a couple insane Cleveland Homers on here who inflate every Cav's value by 150%. Kevin Love has his faults, but he is a very good basketball player.

I am also not sure I have ever heard anyone on here call Love soft. Can't recall that anyway. Not sure where you have heard that.

Really? Who you got, Draymond or Shawn Bradley?

Shawn Bradley. He's obviously a black belt in whatever the fuck martial art he's using here:

So you haven't seen the Cavs play lately with Nance. Should have just said so. To be fair, I thought the same as you until I watched him play this season.
