up until this point they were dealing with death row inmates. they wanted a young kid that wouldn't have anyone asking about them (granted, it seems a high majority of the death row inmates were either innocent or had their reasons to feel sympathetic towards)I watched the first couple eps last night. Why is the study going all-in on this random kid they chose? They didn’t explain anything special about her except that she wouldn’t be missed. All that could have been skipped with a few throwaway lines about her having a rare blood type or being the grand daughter of one of the test subjects or something that makes her in the least bit special.
