Not since Clemson part 2 have I been this pissed. Not since the Kick-6 game have I been this embarrassed.

I guess the silver lining is next season will be all about chasing the new #1. That damn CFP top seed is a curse.

I guess Butch is stick around after all and I'm actually happy to hear it. He's still somewhat of a running joke, but the players really like him. Bama is suddenly in big need of coaching continuity on the offensive side of the ball.

I don't think it'll provide much continuity really since he wasn't an on the field coach last year, although he will know the players and they do seem to like him.

I think he'd be great to have as a position coach regardless. If they start talking HC and shit, well fuck that, but as a WR coach or something - seems good.

A year after bringing in a lot of assistants who are recruiting specialists, Saban is loaded back up with sound X's & O's guys. Sunseri was part of the 2009 & 2011 championship teams. Flood's hire pretty much makes Sark's return as done deal. Was hoping Jimmy Lake was also inbound as new DC, but reports are he actually declined the opportunity to interview.

Relation to Vinni? Vinni posted the other day that he has returned to his education at Bama.

Are you asking if they are related? If So, Sal is the father. Sal was on the staff when Vinni played at Alabama, but was stolen away as DC by Tenn.

If you are asking if the 2 coming together is related, I think probably so.

Very nice pickups. IMO.

Sal wasn't a good DC, but he remains an excellent position coach

He's for sure an excellent position coach, but I don't really think 1 year at Tennessee under a failing Derek Dooley who hired him out of desperation is a fair place to pass judgment on the DC part.

That said, I hope he's not the DC and is just a position coach. He could be a good one, but I really want to see a guy with experience. I'd love to see an NFL hire like we did with Daboll, who I really liked as OC.

That's fair. To this day, Dooley remains the worst head coach in SEC history.

It's why Saban is the GOAT. He doesn't sit around and make excuses. He identified the obvious problem and started at day 1 towards fixing it. Perhaps even sooner.
