i still think espn has to much influence on who wins. they always jump on somebody early. thats basically the death nail in that kids heisman hopes. because bout midseason they'll jump on the bandwagon ofthe kid they want to win it.

they had pumped up murray so much by seasons end, that tua only won the south region by 19 points. it's quite sad really.

That's why it's called "The Hypesman". Whatever hype thing happens late in the season = that's who wins.

Like Manziel for example sucked in many of his games against better defenses that year. But then he goes to Tuscaloosa, gets flat out lucky on things like the TD pass off the fumble, jump balls that Mike Evans came down with etc. Nobody in the media pays attention to the fact that these were mostly bad/bullshit plays that turned out nicely, and that the real story of the day was that the A&M defense is why A&M won, as AJ threw 2 interceptions that game, the only 2 he threw all season that year.

But then when Manziel played LSU and Florida, he had terrible stats. I mean terrible, like 0 TD's and some turnovers. Against those teams he didn't have the luck. And then he set all these "SEC Records" because Sumlin would leave him in for 4 and 5 TD's in every game OOC. But they get the miracle win against Alabama, the narrative and story gets written, and the rest is history. AJ was the much better QB, had the better season, but he lost it all in that 1 game, and Manziel won it all in that one game.

Similar things happen often. Lamar Jackson gets the win over Watson for example. All late season hype on Jackson, while Watson was clearly the better QB.

Clemson ran 99 plays against our offense in 2016 and had 0 called on them, and that was maybe one of the best defenses in college football history.

Anyway, I guess Michigan has a similar thing to a lesser degree and one of them did some research on it, and Alabama's numbers were just there in the process.

Toughest game of the year. They've improved a ton over the year so it's really hard to guess how good they are.

I think we'll have to play our first complete game of the year, and I hope we are capable of it.

I agree, except im not sure this is our best team ever,, definitely the best O by far, but our D this year was good to great but not as good as 11 or 16 imo.
but I love me some Crimson Tide so dont hate on me
