But it seems to me like the Bears would be desperate for the 2 seed. They get a free playoff win with a bye seed.

This ^^^^^^

Still doesn't make sense that they are a TD favorite over the Chicago Bears. Minnesota lost to Chicago earlier in the year and the Bears have the 2nd best defense in the NFL and one of the best offenses in the NFC. Unless Chicago rests some starters, which they won't because they can still get a 1st round bye with a win and a Rams loss, there's no way Minnesota beats Chicago.

Don't these lines often open on the high side and then adjust toward the end of the week? I think on paper, the Vikes should be favored playing at home but maybe by a FG. I don't know shit though. :suds:

I’m not saying they shouldn’t be favored but 7 seems like a big line. Seems like there may be some inside info that the Bears don’t want to face the Eagles and are going to throw the game.
I think the Bears need the win for a bye. They won't be throwing shit. Having said that the Vikes should be favored at home but only by 3 points!

The Vikings played like absolute shit at Chicago and kept it a one score game. Stefanski calling plays in Minnesota, I like the Vikes.

If I'm the aBears I'm not really trying too hard to win unless the Rams somehow lose to SF. I'd certainly rather play Kirk Cousins and the Vikings in the playoffs than the Eagles

They scored a meaningless TD late.

It was a close game. Did you watch it? Bears pressured the hell out of Cousins. Again, new guy calling plays, more dedication to the run. Vikings don’t turn the ball over, they win.

I wouldn't say there's no way, it's the NFL and the Vikings are playing for there season... Bears are on the road also which gives the Vikings a little lift, home team always has a little edge... It wouldn't surprise me if the Vikings win... Also, I doubt the Rams are losing, they're home against the 49rs and trying to ensure a 1st round bye, Rams have a lot to play for ...

It wasn't a close game... Did you watch? The Bears beat the Vikings down, were up 22-6, then coasted. You might want to rewatch that game sober. The final score in no way reflected the game. Even Zimmer said as much.

The Vikings accomplished nothing on offense and were never down by more than 2 scores. If you think that’s dominating, then prepare yourself for the letdown you’re doing to get in the playoffs.

Maybe they didn't accomplish anything on offense because they were dominated. duh

I assume the betting line thought the bears would rest players. I know typically you give 3 points to the home team, but that should get wiped out by the bears being the better team. if someone wants to convince me the back against the wall angle for the vikes. Okay, slightly favored. If the bears are playing for the possible #2 seed. I dont see the vikes winning. It is a winning team vs. Cousins, enough said.

The Vikings are favored because they're at home with a guaranteed playoff spot on the line if they win. So, they should be extremely motivated to get it done. The Bears on the other hand obviously have the division, and thus a home playoff game locked up already. The Vikings also managed to make it one score game in their loss in Chicago earlier in the season, making it plausible that they could beat Chicago in Minnesota given the aforementioned motivators.

All that being said, the Bears will be just as hungry for the win, as they are fighting for a potential 2nd seed placement and 1st round bye should the Rams lose this week (both would be 12-4, with Chicago holding the tie-breaker). So they definitely aren't laying down. The Vikes SHOULD win this one, but I personally consider the game to be about as 50/50 as it gets. I definitely wouldn't bet big money on either team in this one. Vikes could very well take a fat dump to end the season; we'll see what happens.

Well let's put things in perspective. The Bears have been one of the worst franchises in the NFL for a while. Before the season started, no one gave them a chance to make the playoffs except for a few die-hard fans on this board. Hell, I thought they would be lucky to win 7 this season. But here we are, the Bears have won 11 games and won the NFCN. They are a very young and talented team, and barring injuries should be relevant in the NFC for the next few years. So if the Bears shit the bed in the playoffs I will not be let down. They play a hard, defensive style of football that dominates opposing offenses... So much so that casual fans would characterize the opposing offensive performance as "an off day" or "they didn't do anything".
