LOL over rated top 5 team... sure i mean yes you all won. I just think its not a foregone conclusion that they even win round 1 at this point like i had previously thought. My opinion means jack shit, i dont know why some retards get so worked up over what i think. We will see for sure i mean maybe they are being Jekyll and hyde

Georgia would be favored against any team outside of Bama and Clemson.

Agreed; and if Georgia were put in at NR3 then the NC game will have the same two teams ....again. If Georgia is put in at NR4 there will be a National Champion from the SEC.....AGAIN. I don't think the committee wants that either, so Georgia will not be given the chance and Clemson and Alabama will play for the NC....AGAIN and the committee doesn't want that either. Hmmmm; wonder what they are going to do. Their only hope is to have Alabama play Clemson first.

But the human element needs to be seriously reduced. This at least reduces some of the human element aside from rankings. And I wouldnt mind seeing a G5 in if they earn it. Right now its based far too heavily on debate rather than on the field. Ranking systems are flawed. I have Clemson over Bama on OOC alone. Clemson played a "ranked" Tamu and So Car OOC as opposed to 1 P5 5 that went 2-10 2 G5s and an FCS.

I do not really disagree with you over all(I prefer 8 team playoffs), but this logic is flawed, IMHO. The reason being that you are giving Clemson's 28-26 (@ TAMU) more weight than Bama's 45-23 home win over TAMU due to a conference affiliation. This is why I want auto bids for all P5 champs so that there is less danger of scheduling good OOC matchups because the result cannot keep you out of the playoffs but can let you play yourself in for the at large spots.

Lets be real.....its not exactly fair that Georgia and Alabama had to play each other for a shot while Clemson played Pitt, Ohio State played Northwestern, and Notre Dame played no one. Oklahoma at least played a respectable enough Texas team. Not all conference championships are created equal.

Bama Clemson Oklahoma Notre Dame are my picks, but IMO Georgia would still whip Oklahoma and Notre Dame. We'll never know

Also, as laughable as all the ESPN ignorance may be, not anywhere close to as laughable as Urban Meyer's sanctimonious bullshit about how strongly he believes a playoff team should win their conference. Where were ya two years ago Urbs? Move those goal posts much? What a chach.

Wouldn't it be nice if things like this were ALL played out on the field (from this point forward) instead of in a room at the Gaylord in Grapevine, TX? Then we "would know'?

Let Ou play AL.
OU always plays the SEC tough.
OU has 3 straight wins against AL.
Georgia exposesed AL secondary yesterday. OU most likely won’t stop them but I bet they can score on them though.

I think Georgia is #2 but they had their chance yesterday to beat #1 and they couldn’t. So they’re out.

True.

Pity for them they didn’t have a de facto bye week like Clemson or tOSU.

I would agree with you totally IF the charge to the CFP committee WERE NOT to select the "four best teams" for the playoff.

Since that is their charge, Georgia belongs in. I don't like it, but that is what was agreed to when all this started.

Alabama has played Georgia 1 time in conference since 2008. They aren't scheduled to play again in SEC play till 2020.

Just for reference since 1996 when the Big XII was formed they (Georgia, and Alabama) have played 5 times in 22 years.

It pretty easy to inflate your record when you get an extra cupcake game. Let take cross division games into account for say the Big XII in Nebraska vs Oklahoma. They (Oklahoma and Nebraska) played 8 times in Conference between 1996 and 2010 when they left. They haven't been in the same conference for 8 years, but still have more games against each other than Georgia and Alabama in conference games.

The SEC manipulates their scheduling.
Here is the major flaw in your argument.

For example Auburn: We have historically had schedules that are in the top 10 toughest in the entire country. In fact last year we played 3 of the 4 playoff teams (one of them twice). This year we played both the SEC champion, the SEC Eastern division champion and the PAC 12 champion.

When you are playing those type of schedules your cup cake argument falls apart. When YOU play a schedule that is ranked in the top 10 in SOS then you may BS post and bitch to me but until then STFU.

Army had a real great season this year, and is a quality win this year.
That's what I love about OU.

Typical OU fan: "You don't play a 9 game conference schedule and play Cup Cakes, while we beat Army who is really good this year".

What was I thinking? You guys should be the number one seed I totally see that now.

Guffaw. That's what he's paid to do dumbass. He's supposed to lobby for his team.
