Redskins' gambles on these groups aren't paying off

signing richardson to a 40 mil contract . he had a history of being injured and we paid him 40 mil

he ends up with 20 catches , 262 yds and 2 tds

a lot of people here are big into free agents . the fact is most of the time they are 50/50 fits . PR is now a poor investment . hopefully next season he can stay healthy

pernall mcphee has 4 tackle and one PD , not even close to TM production he has 3 sacks 2 TFL and one PD and 14 tackles exceed mchee's and anderson's production combined

spencer long , has started all year long . my could we use him here

fuller , my i wonder what having him FM and dunbar would have done vs atlanta ?

our FA signings are as follows

AD starter great find
PM failing
PR injured fail
floyd 0 production 1 catch 20 yds 5 targets

so we hit on 1 FA in 4

much like i said this off season

I wouldn’t say we hit on AP quite yet. If he plays the second half of the season like he did the first half...huge hit.

this post is a joke. How the hell can you forecast an injury from PR? He was are only legit deep threat which he was proven to be before he got hurt. Roullier has played well that was why Long was let go and Long is average at best. Does TM even start for the Bills? Fuller was let got b/c we have adequate depth in Dunbar and Moreau which have played fine so far. Plus we needed a QB. The injury bug is going to hurt us but you cant dismiss this years fa.

Of course skinsdad blaming the front office again. what else is new.

He is only being paid $1M & there are no commitments to him for the future. He has helped them win several games. If he doesn't play even one more down for this team he will still have been a steal.

If you are given this chance 10 times you take it every time.

Ok dean so given PR’ s injury history or Lavous’s you had no inkling they would go down ? None ?

And the saints , colts , and falcons showed us what the secondary was about

We all knew LG was going to be a weakness. Richardson already proved he was going to be the deep threat that we needed. Especially when Crowder went out. It just sucks that we have all these injuries. Im focused on tampa.

Wasn’t the tune you were singing last season . And deflecting doesn’t cut the mustard . The FO knew these guys were fragile and still paid them anyway. And in Pr ‘s case to the tune of 40 mil

We needed a deep threat. Richardson was proving he could be a deep threat for this team. He got hurt which sucks but it was the right move in FA. Reed and Crowder are giving us nothing this year. Can blame the front office for that.

PR gave us the same production as pryor and they knew of his history of injuries and still paid 40 mil

reed's lack of production is a direct result of poor qb play

It is sad to say of a 14 year vet but Smith looks lost in the offense.

Can somebody tell me how PR has proven anything?

I think he has nice hands and he did make a nice adjustment on his 46 yd TD. I've read that among his skill-set is the ability to go up and win consistently on 50/50 balls and supposedly he has great body control.

NOTE:
The things I wrote about Richardson's ability to win more often than not on 50/50 balls and the great body control. I took from an article written by a Redskins sportswriter I believe or maybe he's a blogger, I dunno. But I do know he green-lighted and justified everything Allen/the FO did far as trading a young and up n coming player like Fuller and the 3rd rd pk for Smith. The Richardson signing, to the letting go of both Garcon and Djax. Regardless of what happened, this writer put Allen in a positive light.

And to dean's point about whether forecasting injury for Richardson is a correct or even reasonable thing to do. I was somewhat and pleasantly surprised to see that Richardson's injury history wasn't as extensive as I thought it would be. He missed all of 2015 except one game or part of a game. But in 3 of his 4 years in Seatown Richardson played in 15 games twice and 16 games once. So while I think its reasonable, even necessary in some cases to consider a player's injury history. Chris Thompson is one of those players for example. I wouldn't say Richardson falls into that category, at least not at this time.

A category Richardson might fall into is. When a Redskins WR not named DeSean Jackson gets hurts or dinged up. The hurts and dings seem to linger around more than they should. Doctson didn't look right for over a year after he was hurt in his rookie season. JC isn't 100% ready now n Richardson is done for the year.

Far as Jordan Reed goes. Does he even run patterns 6 or 7 yards beyond the LOS anymore? Maybe G's right and Reed's lost something, but this might be the healthiest Reed has ever been this late into the season. I recall dad posting a thread where Reed was the fastest player to 300 catches in the least amount of games (60 games was it) played. That's great and all, but the problem is that it took him damn near 6 seasons to play less than 4 seasons worth of games. Any team with an interest in Reed would be stupid not to factor in his injury history.....including us. With that said. Reed's only had one great season. 2015 - 87 catches, 952 yards, 11 TDs. Those 87 catches account for 30% of all his catches, those 952 yards are 30% of his career total yards and the 11 TDs 47% of his 23 career TDs. If something doesn't change this year, Reed becoming a more involved player, or if he gets injured this year. We need to seriously think on letting Reed walk

I was just going by what Dean stated. He said PR was proving to be the deep threat we needed. He is averaging 13 YPR and hasn’t caught a 50 yard pass. I just don’t see that as proving anything.
