And did I read this correctly? This whole feud between Irving and Smith started with Irving making a joke about Smith’s wardrobe like a year ago?

Irvin retired early too. Smith played a lot more games.

I remember it well last year. Smith wore some plaid suit. Irvin was in studio at the time. Smith was on location. Irvin laughed at his suit and immediately the demeanor of the whole set changed. Smith said I will be wherever soon and when I see you I’m gonna whip your ass. Something to that effect. It surprised me yesterday when I saw them doing a piece together before the game.

Nothing fake or scripted here. This is real.

I rather had Smith than Irvin on my team, guy carried teams.

Wasn't Irvin a cokehead at one point...he maybe forgot that Smith Sr even played in BAL.

But on your other point...Smith Sr was a beast for a <6' WR, but I'll take me some Michael Irvin.

Irvin's nose has gotta be like a lifelong heroin users arm, all fucked up and destroyed, I bet Smith with one good shot could knock that fucker right off his face!

Haven't you guys heard any of Irvin's interviews? Smith would kill him, Irvin is a giant ass pussy, any time he would start about an altercation he had to call his buddies to go grab their guns.

Steve Smith was one of my favorite players of all time, he had to have that edge as he was under sized and always fighting. My favorite quote when he arrived in Baltimore

"....what I think of is you go in there, we take your lunch box, we take your sandwich, we take your juice box, we take your applesauce and we take your spork and we break it".

Holy thin-skinned Steve Smith. Comes off as a total douche. I thought he supposedly had changed and matured late in his career. Obviously not. Ironic that a guy in the media who has to at least at times be critical of others can't take even the slightest hint of criticism towards himself. Plus I got the feeling Irvin didn't even remember Smith being there.

On topic, Irvin was a great route runner. Many a pass was thrown before he even cut and that isn't something that works unless the WR is exactly where he was supposed to be when he was supposed to be and the QB can put it in that exact spot. Yeah, he pushed off a lot too, but most did then. He'd get open with or without pushing off and it certainly wasn't because he had great speed or quickness.

Why is Irvin still on NFLN? Everybody there who was accused of something during the 'me too' movement has been fired......yet this piece of shit is still around? That's on top of other accusations. It surely isn't because his football analysis is deeply insightful - the turd only talks about himself, receivers and the Cowboys.

Steve Smith? His football offers are on par with Irvin...and he's a punk on top of it. Hopefully soon, his tough-guy act triggers someone into kicking his ass good enough for a hospital stay. They're two of the more unwatchable, look-at-me assholes on that network.

Meanwhile, over at ESPN, Randy Moss is smooth, articulate, insightful, unbiased and unfortunately working for ESPN.

It's just the networks trying to relate to their entire base, and unfortunately, there are a lot of inarticulate, dumbass hip hoppers who truly love hearing their words like gospel. There really isn't any other reason....because NFLN and ESPN do have ex-players on their staffs that are coherent, but they ain't cool....not 'hip' enough.

All these ex players turned announcer/ analyst need to grow up. They are constantly trying to one up each other and one up current players. They usually wear ridiculous suits and load suits and come off looking like clowns. Irivin looks like he thinks he is a Diva in his 50's. They should both be embarrassed to get in an argument on live TV.
Loads on suits? Where's your mind at?

I'd put my money on Smith in a fight, one tough bastard. He would one arm defenders right into the ground. Hell throw in Deion Sanders to make it a fair fight
