Serious question, and this isn't just a Bengals thing, but football in general.

I know how offenses are run now, you line up and you wait around, and you change the play 2-3-4 times, whatever....but what I see is defenses that are simply not set, standing up, not paying attention, still running to get players in the correct sets...

Why don't more offenses just snap the damned ball and blow them off the line?

I know you can't when the ref is holding on for a sub, but even coming out of a huddle, defenses are standing around while offenses are lined up, and then instead of smashing them off the line, the offense then looks around for an audible/play call, etc...and the defense finally gets set.

Happens all the time in football. Drives me nuts.
