Former WS Champs. Hope this updates in 2025
Either way, I don't think there's been many
Cole has been pretty bad as of late yet we would not consider releasing him but Moore maybe a different story

There is probably not any that were as bad as he is now or anywhere close to it. Close to as bad as he was last year might be a different story. I think he had an ERA close to five and a half last year and there are probably some guys we have brought in in the fiveish range.Either way, I don't think there's been many
If we practically give him away and he goes somewhere and puts up much better numbers I am going to be more than a little upset at him. That would be Lucroy-like.

That is a gamble though. There is also a possibility he continues to pitch this poorly as long as he is here.Maybe. Have to think we sit on him even DL him after deadline and do waiver thing in August
Who else has been that bad?

He was used so much last year that a drop-off was inevitable I think. His workload increased 60% over the year before.Claudio has been pretty crappy this season too, probably should have taken something for him last year
That being a possibility was the main reason why I wanted them to pursue a trade of him either in this past offseason or a year ago. As much as I hate the Patriots I do admire them for knowing it is better to trade a guy too early rather than too late.I just don't think Cole has any chance to be traded right now. So there is nothing to lose at this point because all has been lost

If they have kept Hamels and/or Beltre until it is too late to get anything for them then they should be blamed for doing so.
I have not studied what the A's gave up enough to know that. It doesn't interest me.Blame? We want to win A WS but A's traded for Familia but surely they are not serious WS contenders.
Point is Rangers want to compete just like most teams and will not lose players just because they are not front running Preseason WS contenders. Did the A's do something wrong?
They are 3 games behind Seattle for a WC and the 1 game playoff. I would imagine they are just trying to make it that far to start with. Probably why they made the trade.Blame? We want to win A WS but A's traded for Familia but surely they are not serious WS contenders.

Gotcha! HA! I thought you were asking why the A's did that. That is my point. It is not a sin to trade away a prospect in hopes to get you to the playoffs even if this does not make you a legit favorite.
