Covington is bascially a poor mans Leonard is what it comes down to.
He can't create his own shot. Covington is more like a younger Iggy. Probably a better defender but a weaker offensive player.

Can't see Leonard staying there.....

I don't see it either. But if you're Toronto, what do you have to lose at this point?
They're not an FA destination and even with Lebron out of the East, they are at best, the 2nd best team in the EC and probably 3rd if the Sixers can stay healthy.
May as well shoot for the moon and hope that a deep playoff run is enough to get Kawhi to stay. If not, then maybe you start rebuilding.
Yeah. Toronto is another team I could see shooting the Moon for Kawhi. But they would be taking a HUGE risk as I don't think there is a chance in hell that Kawhi would stay in Toronto. Philly is acceptable because it is a huge city, 2 hours from New York. Hell, Redick lives in Williamsburg and commutes to Philly.

@TurnUpTheHeat, @Heatles84
That would be a great offseason pickup.
But, Riley has "lost his fastball" and has indicated he won't trade a king's ransom for a player.
We’ll see.
Im sure Riley has reached out.
I just read Melo wants to come to Heat?
I can see that too.
#Beasleyonsteroids
Im so ready to hear Beasley to Heat
#round4
I hear the Lakers have interest.
Good comparison. That other one blew me away.
You sound like a crazy person.Covington is bascially a poor mans Leonard is what it comes down to.
I can't agree with the Iggy comparison either. Iggy was all-rookie 1st team, all NBA defense 1st team and 2nd team, and made an all-star team. Maybe Wilson Chandler.
yah- Covington is an amazing rangy defender and can shoot a little bit.You realize that Covington is a 1st team All-NBA defensive player right? Well before Iggy ever did in his career. Iggy with the Sixers was more of a focal point of the offense so he scored more. RoCo is a prototypical 3 & D player, albeit with a too streaky shot.
You sound like a crazy person.
Just putting this here. He would not be able to be a free agent at the end of his contract if he were to sit out. I don't think he's that dumb. However, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what his "camp" is suggesting he do if he's not traded to the Lakers.
