No they couldn't. Houston could offer an extra year. OKC couldn't. Go back and look up the details. The way it was set up OKC was fucked. Teams were only allowed to have one max 5 year contract at that time. We agree on most but you're wrong on this. If I'm wrong and you can prove it I'll admit it. It's all good.

I don't think that's true at all. You can carry multiple players on 5 year contracts so long as you have their bird rights (can only sign to 4 year deals if you don't). They haven't redone the CBA since the lockout in 2012.

I think we both are correct.

You are talking about the extra year.

I think at the time, you could only have one guy on the 5 year max.

I'm talking about the total money.

He would have stayed on the 4 year if they gave him 5 mil more.

The Thunder offered Harden $55.5 million over four years -- $4.5 million less than the max deal Harden coveted and will get from the Rockets, sources told ESPN The Magazine.Thunder ship star sixth man Harden to Rockets

Heat never got close to having 4 current top 15 players and a 5th player who was dpoy and a top 20ish player.

Not even close
So you mad cuz the Dubs perfected it?

That's what I thought too. It was reported yesterday that the Lakers and Pelicans both had contacted him.
Saw somewhere that he could have signed with a bad team for 1yr/10.

If that's true, I don't blame him for going to the Warriors.

I will try to find it.

8 figures is more than both those guys.

He could've gotten 10 to 15 from several teams. The injury sucks but teams aren't going to just ignore it.

And he can do whatever he wants, honestly I don't blame him like others will. I'm just not buying the "I got no offers" thing.
Where did you see he had a 8 figure offer?

If everyone stays healthy and they don't win 80 games then the season is a failure.
The season already fails to meet your pre-qualifications. Cousins won’t play until probably January, and even then only at about 60% or so.

Cousins is coming off a MAJOR injury. This is not as ridiculous a signing as it appears on the surface. He needed a team that could let him sit for approx half the season. The Dubs are just about the only team that do that for him.

I feel bad for the Rockets. They were thinking they were almost there and now this happens.

I disagree, it discredits what he's claiming.

It was a hasty emotional response to people not throwing max deals at him on day 2.

Teams were negotiating with him, due to the injury, rather than giving him whatever he wants like most players of his caliber get.

That's just the nature of being a big man recovering from an Achilles. Teams are going to be cautious.
You are just guessing...

Just because those teams contacted him doesn't mean they made and offer.

The Lakers could have easily signed and traded Randle to get Boogie and chose not to for whatever reason.

Portland could have done a sign and trade. But, Cousins shares an agent with Nurkic and that killed the deal.

I have not seen a single tweet, let alone a story, that claims ANYONE actually made him a contract offer.

They totally could have. But, I haven't seen anything that would make me dismiss his story as folly.

So, this is all just pissing in the wind by all of us.

Lebron should have signed in Golden State, that would have been fun
With the onliest problem being GS didn't want nor do they need him. So, there's that.

I'm 1000% sure if LBJ called the Warriors on Saturday night and said he would sign for the MLE. He would have been a Warrior by now.

As we just saw by the Warriors signing Cousins, they want every great player they can get

Cousins is much much more spineless than Durant. At least Durant signed for what he was worth. Cousins took a 1 year joke for a cheap ring.
Well coming off of an achilles injury he didn't have much choice. I'm not sure how much you know about that type of injury but it's pretty big - I mean he couldn't even walk prior to it healing.

The only thing I'm pretty sure about is they are picky & choosy when it comes to adding talent. They make sure the pieces will fit. I'm also pretty sure LBJ doesn't fit here.

Losing Ariza to Phoenix was HUGE. He was a piece of their core group...that had to sting. And to make matters worse they still haven't gotten an agreement done with Capela...AND they gave Chris Paul all that freakin money for FOUR YEARS. :L
