This beat won't escape my brain and I don't mind one bit. The video is fun too.
Good call.
I love that album...hadn't heard it in years.
It didn't get the fanfare or air time because of all the other stuff going on back then.
As a fellow drummer,A.D. is one of my faves & one of the best drummers in the business. He's definitely on my top 20 GOAT list.
I wasn't even aware of it really. Came across it on a trip to the used cd shop this past weekend and was very happy on first listen. Can't believe I missed this group somehow, being a Mayall fan (at least the Clapton/Green/Taylor years, not too familiar after that).
After he left The Bluesbreakers he went on to record with many other household names of that era..and in various genres...including Frank Zappa. He was also on King Crimson's shortlist in the late 60's.
His bio almost reads like a who's who of 70's-80's rock.
Aynsley Dunbar - Wikipedia
And to think he could've been in the Jimi Hendrix Experience instead of John Mayall's Bluebreakers if not for a coin flip decision by Jimi to go with Mitch Mitchell
as his drummer.....and the rest, as they say...is history.
I'm familiar with Aynsley, just not the Retaliation.
