The Redskins have extended a contract offer to impending free agent OLB Trent Murphy.

Murphy missed all of last season with a torn ACL and MCL. He had a breakout 2016 with nine sacks but was then slapped with a PEDs suspension last year, which he served while on I.R. The former second-rounder is 27, and a short-term deal makes sense for both sides. We'd guess he's back in D.C.
