Anyone here ever tackle one of these? The last water pump I replaced had 4 bolts that held it to a smallblock. This looks more involved.
I used to do all my own work on my cars/trucks.
Now, I just take it to the Dealer and have them do it.
It's much easier that way.
Hope that helps.![]()
I usually do, if it's not too pricey. They wanted $400+. My wife gets cranky when I spend that kind of money on repairs when I have thousands of dollars in tools and a tech school certification in automotive technology.
I miss the days of the $20 water pump. This thing was $100. I also having a leaking power steering line. They wanted $102 for a new one. It ain't leaking that bad.

Fuckadodge.
Said I would never own a mopar again and I have not since that LeBaron GTS.
But the wife REALLY wanted the 2015 Grand Cherokee.
Last week with 42k it went in for
1) Water pump
2) Diagnose power steering fluid leak
3) Diagnose oil leak...or burn...? None on the dipstick, where is it going?
This week, the "Service 4WD System" message now comes on and the "Traction Control" Icon is on.
So.
Easiest way to change a water pump on that dodge?
Let the Ford Dealership do it. After you trade for an F-150.
And all those idiots that want to brag "But they are easier to work on"...Yeah, but it's FRICKEN CONSTANT!!!
Fuckadodge.
I prefer Ford trucks, but this came along at the right time and the right price. It's 10 years old and has 170k on it. I don't mind maintenance repairs.Fuckadodge.

older F250 though.
Ford trucks are so much better looking than the others. Dodge does thier best to try to keep up. I have no idea what Chevy is thinking when they build their block on wheels.I have to post this again.
