Contender for what? The Rams are the class of the NFCW. The 49ers finished 2017 on a good run, but every team they play will have film and more importantly, time, to plan for Jimmy G. No one was ready for his mobility and no one had time to make any adjustments. Same was true in NE before he got hurt.................Can he play a full season without getting hurt??

Arizona...8 wins last season without Johnson. They have no QB currently.

Seattle...9 wins but are starting a defensive and offensive rebuild. Probably the worst team in the West..

Rams...11-5. They were 4-12 season before. I think they are the most overrated team in football and it will show next season with 8 wins.

Then there is SF. Like I said, they won 6 of their last 7 with nobody to throw to. Their early season losses said they were reasonably close. Their last three wins speak even louder...Tenn, JAX, and the Rams (albeit everybody was resting).
