The CZ P-07 Duty is something that can be used for conceal carry. I have one and love it but I don't conceal carry though.

Dude at the gun range talked about a CZ saying they are reliable. Never heard of them

It's a Czech company but they make some of their guns in Kansas City. Czech them out sometime; you might end up buying one.

CZ is one of the best manufacturers out there. They are world renowned for their reliability and durability but their calling card has always been their accuracy. Not as popular in the states because they don't have the large military and police contracts but people in the know are fans. I have a P07 and would put it up against any gun out there. it's reliable, can take a beating, and it is as accurate as any handgun I've ever owned (including semi-custom 1911's in the $1000+ category). I have a P07 thread on here somewhere actually detailing my experiences. I can't say enough about it. Excellent firearm.

Quick note:

The P07/P09 are TDA. Not the conventional striker fired guns. The P10C is striker fired.

Any P07 that has "Duty" fixed to it is an older model. When the P07 was upgraded it had the "Duty" dropped from the name.

Speaking of 9mm I'm looking to get one. Was looking at the Springfield 1911 Range Officer 4" 9mm

I don't want a long barrel or a shorty. Looking for something with less kick is why I'm looking at the 1911

FYI, Apples and oranges I know but at least they are both round...

My boss has a 5" 1911 in 9mm that kicks more than my 5" 1911 in .45.
The recoil is a bit different, a little snappier with more muzzle rise in the 9mm where as the .45 is more of a shove straight back.

if you are stuck on 4" try to see if you can find a place where you can shoot them both.

Actually shot the 1911 EMP but this thing is supposed to be right up there with it

Like the fiber optic front sight.
I have contrasting red rear and green front on my S&W. Love it.
I am looking for a set for my 1911. Front is easy to find, rear, not so much.

Has anybody ever shot a Smith & Wesson Governor? I've been eyeing one up but haven't pulled through on it yet.

I'm not a fan at all of the Governor/Judge type guns. They just don't do anything very well. Not known to be very accurate, manageable, or concealable. If you want a shotgun, get a shotgun. If you want a handgun, get a 9mm or a 45. I mean, honestly, they've always seemed like a gimmick to me.

I have a Judge but I only use it when I out hunting the sandhills in Nebraska or west river in South Dakota. I carry it on my hip with good old nine shot a fine snake gun. But that's it. I would say it wouldn't be a bad option for home defense with some triple buck. But I bought it with snakes in mind.

It would make a good snake gun where carrying a shotgun is less than ideal. Good point.
