I think that the first person in the order should get the player when 2 or more people select the same guy.

So, using your example, Ritz would get Magic and Stoke would get Jordan. WLK and Devil get nothing, but they get the 1st and 2nd pick in the next round and they can select 2 players in an attempt to catch up (with the 2nd player being selected in the 2nd round).

Do the teams who duplicate picks get to make additional selections after the round? If not, then the draft is going to end up really lopsided, imo. What will end up happening is that some teams could potentially have no picks the first 3 rounds. And it's possible that a team gets one of the greatest players of all time in the 5th or 6th round because managers are all scared of losing their pick by selecting the same player who's still available.

I might throw in an auction wrinkle into it since everyone is submitting picks to you. What you could do is give everyone say 20 points. If two teams select the same player, basically the two managers can put in a one time bid on the player. The losing manager would get the last selection in the round, regardless of their draft position. So if the 1st pick and the 10th pick had the same player, those two would put in a bid for the player. If the 1st manager loses, he basically lost his slot and is now picking 10th in that round.

If it was a 3 way bid for a player, same principle applies. Highest bid wins. Then the two remaining managers make their selections. If it's the same player then they have to bid again.

I'm gonna need a few more beers before this makes sense, stay tuned...

You beat a guy in the baseball finals who had a former modern MVP who never made an AS game.

Now that former MVP is the most boring baseball announcer ever. Lol

But I still love him, wish he was the manager tbh. Damn Parkinson's...

I dont want to add an auction like Sushi suggested but I have thought of a couple things we might run into, i'll think more about this and hopefully come up with a solution.

I think it could work, but you have to figure out a way to make sure it goes 1 round at a time. I don't like the idea that in the 4th round, it is possible that 5 people have 4 players each and then 2 others only have 3, then 1 or 2 teams have 1 and there could be another team with nobody yet.

I think if you wait after each round to have everyone catch up, it would work better. I also think (like I said before) that you should have an order, and someone should be able to get a player that someone else picked if they are before them in the draft order. But then, they would go to the back of the order if they get awarded this type of player.

The more I thought about it.The more I like it as is.By using the original format. It adds a last guy to blink .As opposed to a go against the grain and make a safer pick and get a great player aspect.Idk I thinks genius but thats jus my opinion

Yeah, the concern I have is that 5 people take MJ in round one.

Why does everything always have to be fair and if the first guy to draft a player gets him how is that different than just a regular draft, this idea adds some strategy, go for MJ, Wilt, LeBron, Magic or play it smart and go for Duncan, Dr J. Wade, Malone to be sure you get some top players, like I said it was just a suggestion and it's the NBA draft if it fails, who cares it's on to baseball...
