Congrats, Stanford had 35 players named to the list. So more than 3x the UW total. Go home.

Two northern teams in the heart of Texas. I can dig it.
I don't think USC is a dominating team this year, but they would seriously r*pe Wisconsin. That game would be brutal.

Just curious. Why would Washington jump Stanford for a better bowl spot?

Seriously? Stanford won't accept kids that aren't at the very top of the academic standards as it is so he is banging a drum and wanting a pat on the back for football players doing well in the classroom? :L I mean really?
:burt:

Do you realize how entirely douchey that is? I mean that's entirely the kind of arrogance one would expect from a Stanford fan and yet I'm at least mildly disappointed none the less.

Jesus man. This shit should be beneath you.

There is no precedent for CCG losers to always be higher than the rest of their conference. So the question would be why would you even have that question?

We had a team that didn't qualify for their CCG make the final 4 last year and it could happen again this season if Bama makes that cut.

College football doesn't work like any other sport, including the NFL. At the NFL level you play every team in your division twice. All manner of upset deviation is worked out of who really is better than the rest of your division. One bad game in college can really fuck things up. Bowl selection committees and the playoff committee are there to weed past simple records and decide that.

But the real killer is bowl selection is about making money for their bowl. They have no requirement to always take the best team (outside of bowl tie ins). Stanford doesn't travel well. They don't have a rabid fan base. This hurts a lot of teams, not just Stanford, but pretty much every other top team in the conference is more attractive to a bowl committee tasked with bringing in top dollar in attendance as well as attractiveness to a TV audience.

I know last season USC was ranked higher than Colorado after the CCG and people thought they were a better team. Washington isn't known for their huge fan base. I mean it's not nothing and probably more than Stanford but you don't think of them as being like teams who are known for it. Stanford still feels like its just a good a team as Washington I'd say. So if the only or best reason to jump them for a better bowl is fan base kinda sucks. Will Washington be ranked higher on monday?

We finished tied in the division with the tiebreaker being head to head. That doesn't take into account overall record. We both finished 7-2 in conference. Stanford is now 9-4 overall and UW is 10-2. 4 losses man. FOUR. That's huge.

And you don't think Washington fans travel better than Stanford? :wtf: They very much ARE known for bowl travel and still more than filled in their tickets and travel even when they were under 7 win sark. They would travel just fine to a Cotton bowl slot or other top national bowl.

Stanford won the division and beat Washington and beat Notre dame which is two better wins than any Washington had. So if you're picking between the two there's just as many arguments for Stanford as their is for the Huskies. Thats why I was curious why I see some having Washington jump Stanford.
I said " probably more than Stanford" when talking about Washington fans traveling so why are you asking me why i don't think Washington fans travel better than Stanford? I'm sure they do but the difference isn't huge not like you're talking Ohio State vrs Oregon State.

They won their division and still lost FOUR games. I'm not sure how you are missing that part. 10-2 is better than 9-4. Kind of simple math really.

You have a CCG knowing for one team it will help propel them and for the other it probably ends up harming them.

@AlaskaGuy is definitely beneath a Stanford grad who is currently a teacher on here, one of the most honorable professions in this fucked up country today.

he makes it easy to hate Huskies.
