KC will get a contract slightly greater than the Stafford deal. He will be the highest paid player until Ryan and Rodgers get their extensions, maybe as early as next year before the season starts.

doesn't matter that Lucks deal is 3 years old. Carr got less than him and he is younger. It should be in the range of those three.

Car was coming off injury and still on his rookie contract. Carr had to strike while the iron was hot and actually didnt have much leverage at the end of the day. Had he balked, the raiders had the option to tag him next year.

Bruce over inflated Kirks value by tagging him TWICE already. So sorry slick, Kirk IS going to get paid more than Carr, Luck or Stafford. You can thank Bruce for that.

Way better than third best in the division. I’m not even ready to say wentz is better, but he sure is looking like a good one. The other two plain out suck

Maybe, but there is a perception that does exist in NFL circles whether we agree with it or not.

We will see one of two things.

1. the offer he signs

2. the spin doctored offer Bruce will say he made after Kirk signs else where. It will look Awesome when Bruce first mentions it, but if Kirk doesnt sign here i expect we will see another deal designed to look good right until you turn the lights on, then it will be just ugly.

Well, yeah, but I think that there's something to what @Dean is saying about it being up to Kirk. Let's say that as part of a new contract, Dan Snyder actually and factually has offered 10% ownership in the team to Kirk and he turns it down because he simply doesn't want to be here any longer. Isn't that completely up to him?

Well sure. But I would sooner expect Dan to offer Tiff and Britt's delicate young flowers than give up even one 100th f a percent of his team ownership.

I admit there is a level where if Kirk turns it down, its all on him. But I think ANY deal at this point starts at around $26M a year annually, and $80M guaranteed ($100m FOR INJURY ONLY)

WOW you're a bit conservative monetarily, I believe that any deal starts at 28M.

$26m is a talking point, anything less is just wasting time.

In this scenario, it is completely up to him. The question is why does he not want to be here? It’s a cause and effect thing. While KC may make the decision to leave, it will be because of how he was treated by the FO. It won’t be because of the money. Greed is not the issue, as much as Dean wants it to be.

Can't say I would blame KC that much, if he doesn't want to be here AND gets a fair market contract.

I'm not sure where he could go that would be as set up for success as the Redskins are, however.

You and I agree on this, however, I could be wrong here, you still believe that it's NOT a foregone conclusion that he's already made this decision to leave. Whereas, I've believed that he decided to leave right after the failed attempts to sign and retag him, twice now.

I honestly believed that there was a chance after the first time (tag), but after the second tag, combined with his current age and desire to get a LTD, I don't think that there's anything that Allen/Snyder can do to change his mind outside of the unheard of offer well north of a base starting the 28 - 34 million range. Even then, I still think that Kirk will want to go. Why? because money isn't an issue for him anymore. He's stated on numerous occasions that he wants to feel wanted. That opportunity is now in the past, any offer that he gets, will be cloaked in the thought that they are doing so because they "have to" NOT because they really want to.

So basically we are fucked and our best hope is that a REAL GM is involved in the draft nest year to prevent Dan and Bruce from trading 5 first rounders in the quest for the QB they really want any way??

Yup!! I know that it's often difficult to want to believe this, (not you) but one thing is certain, no one will or can in any logical way assert that it's not only possible, but close to the bone.

I think Dan and Bruce would be THRILLED to be able to honestly say, we made him a solid offer and he just wanted out. So he left us no choice but to make the move we did to get the QB we did.
