Onside kick?

Down by 10 with over 3 minutes to play plus 3 time outs. Gruden decided to go for the onside kick. Why? Odds are you don't get it. If you kick it deep you try to force a 3 and out on a SHORT field. Then try to get a quick score no matter a FG or TD to cut it to one possession. We are down by two scores. That call just put a cherry on a bad night from everyone. Please tell me you guys see how bad of a call that was.

Defense could not stop Wentz and the offense could not sustain drives. Absolutely no running game to speak of. Cant win games with that formula. The Wentz scramble was bad but I thought the run call from the Eagles on 3rd and 6 when we were down by 7 points on that same drive was worst. That is basically a give up play and we couldn't stop it. Awful!! Kc still cant read a blitz. Our injures played a toll in this game. DJ was down right awful. Bad games from all three phases plus coaching. This was a big game and team just flopped.

Not happy at all today.

Cmon man - I was very angry last nt, but we have to be realistic about the situation. Take a look at the situation - they were missing their staring D lineman, best DB, were without most of their O line at times (& playing w/ hurt O lineman @ other times), experienced numerous secondary & other injuries during game, had a replacement kicker & had a bad game from their best safety. Add to that the fact that they were playing one of the better NFL teams at their stadium & a hot QB.

Let's be real - kind of hard to win with all of that going against you regardless of coaching. I hope that they heal somewhat & get a little tougher. I am hoping for the best but you have to a least be somewhat realistic.

Dean , we are down 2 scores , we kick off , burn 3 to’s and get the ball back needing 2 scores with only one more clock stoppage. We still would need an onside kick somewhere in there

Not really. You already stated that the defense was not stopping the Eagles so what makes you think that they could stop them a few more times? Hey - having good coaching is great, but at some pt you have to acknowledge talent & injuries. Again - they pay the other team to win. It doesn't always come down to some key decision at the end of the game. The Eagles were just flat out the better team last nt.

Well there you go - the Eagles just beat the Redskins. You could perhaps argue the various calls say in the KC game, but this game just felt like - after say late 2nd QTR - the Eagles were just gong to win period. You could swap the coaching staffs for both teams - highly unlikely if affects the outcome of this game.

Yep - I did take issue with that. Oh well - all coaches are going to make mistakes. However - if anyone is suggesting that Gruden is the main reason for their 3 losses they should think again. Sure - you can argue the Chiefs game to a pt but not the Eagles games - they were simply beat. After a while you just have to accept being beaten by a better team & move on.

A very small part if at all. Cmon - be honest about this team. You are just torturing yourself if you believe that their injuries & shortcomings in some areas (WR, RB) are not their main problem at the current time.

Let's say Philly goes three and out and punts if we kick it deep and we use all three of our timeouts. Let's even say we score a TD on the ensuing possession leaving us with 1:30, down three, and no timeouts. We are now kicking off, what kind of kick do you make? Do you kick it deep or do you do an onsides kick?
