Defend ... no. Know what they and the league are going to fall back on ... yes. Part of sports is bad calls. Yeah I know they are supposed to eliminate that with replay but we all know they haven't. You have to hope more go your way than against.

All we as fans want is for the refs to get the call right. Regardless if it goes your way or not. We want consistency. I could easily see from my couch Davis did not fumble the ball. It's a joke a guy on his couch can make a better and more accurate call than an idiot ref right there on the field.
The ref saw the exact same thing that I saw.. what we all saw. He had the same clear views that I had... and he blew it. For what ever reason.. he blew it. Sometimes I think they over think things out there.Would you concede proximity a factor between what you saw from your couch and what the ref saw on the field?

Thats where we disagree because I believe he did. All good though... the terrible call didnt cost us a game.OK, again I'm not defending the call, ref said that he saw a fumble, there was not enough video evidence to conclusively overturn his call....play stands.
I know he was down because common sense tells you that but anyone that says they can see the ball in his hand while his other arm touches the ground has Xray vision.
Excellent point....thus NO indisputable video evidence to overturn the call on the field.
We who watch these games, especially those who are invested in outcomes (favorite team, home team, FF etc) will never agree with that call....period....but trust me, I've tried to use the force to change the outcome, and the shit just doesn't work.
Blow outs are not good for the NFL viewership. The Refs are going to make some shitty calls every week. The Redskins are not yet one of those teams that are going to get that Ref call every time.
IM going to call it now, the Niners or the Browns are going to win this coming weekend, there will be some reffing involved. The Refs aint there to be fair and impartial.
