Wow. So KC is going to ask for 100mg? No matter how he plays?

You still don't get it. KC should have got more guaranteed because his current contract was already paying him 24 million. Stafford got more than Carr because he was making considerably more than Carr on his current contract.

Stafford was not worth that much. Not at all. Hall of Fame contract for a decent QB.

Oh I get it. KC is going to ask for 100mg next year.

It will bother me if KC has an average year then ask for 100mg in FA.
Why? Why is this such an issue for you? I would think that you would be more upset that this front office let this situation get so out of hand when they could have signed him for half this amount 2 years ago if they only had done their homework.

Well that falls completely on the Redskins FO. You seemed to be happy yesterday since Cousins' poor performance would somehow validate your position of not giving him a long term deal. Well - guess what? The Redskins will somewhat be losers regardless of what occurs for Cousins this season.

If he does poorly then they will likely part ways & the last two tags will basically be a waste of time & they will be once again searching for a new QB & likely waiting several years for it to help them achieve their goal. If Cousins thrives then they will have to pay a fortune in guarantees AND the money used for the last two tags will contribute absolutely nothing to that amount. IMO - that is the ultimate in poor planning & is mainly a byproduct of the massive egos of Allen & Snyder.

The only way that this looks alright will be if the Redskins make a deep playoff run & Cousins thrives which doesn't appear likely rt now. I still think that there is a good chance that Cousins plays well enough & remains w/ the Redskins, but it will cost them dearly. Still not sure why you don't understand that the mgmt & not the players are the ones who truly control the destiny of the team & ultimately they are the ones to blame for any issues in this area. Why would anyone fault a player for trying to maximize his income (assuming it doesn't involve holdouts & other similar things)?

I agree with you that he should of been locked up earlier but at the time he was very unproven. Now we will have to pay 100mg for an average QB. That just doesn't sit well with me. If KC has an average year I would just transition tag him and let the 49ers give him the 100mg. The only way KC comes back at that number is if he carries this team to a playoff win. A season like last year wont cut it. Just the way I feel.

I can understand your post but by not countering the May 1 offer didn't sit well with me. If he wanted to be here he would of countered. I do agree with you that a playoff win would have to happen for KC to sign a long term deal here. A bad to average season will not justify a 100mg contract.

I don't dislike him. Are you giving KC 100mg after an average year and missing the playoffs?

1. His AVERAGE year as a starter is 4500 yards and 25-30 TDs passing and rushing combined.

2. If this team makes the playoffs, it wont be singlehandedly because of the QB.. it will be a team effort. If we dont make the playoffs, it wont be the soul responsibility of the QB.

3. With the way QB salaries are going, if Cousins has another AVERAGE year, we would be lucky to get him for ONLY $100M guaranteed at that point considering that Matt Ryan AND Rogers will both be up for extensions in the same time frame.

But fact is Dean, you singlehandedly blame Cousins for us not making the playoffs. Had he simply not tried to throw the ball in that giants game. To you that damned him to hell. And add in the elusive bumper crop of QBs next year and your mind was made up months ago.

2. you never know. If KC won the Car and NYG games you can make an argument that he single handedly put us in the playoffs.

3. Lucky at 100mg? that is crazy. An average performance doesn't warrant that type of money IMO.

I don't singlehandedly blame KC for us missing the playoffs. You guys are crowing his ass as the greatest QB in the NFL. I just don't see it yet.

Kirk Cousins has done reached his ceiling it will be very unlikely he gets a long term contract here without a playoff win and even then that's probably unlikely

Don't forget KC came over to Dean's house and broke his TV. He literally grabbed it and slammed it on the floor.
