You trailer park fucks have gotten way too cocky and all this Big 12 fan hugging shit about made me want to puke. Fuck you guys. I feel better now. World seems right again. :suds:

When you own like 7 more conference titles than the next best member you can get cocky too.

Pointing out your ignorance =\= giving your opinion any credence.

There isn't anything ignorant about pointing out you guys hypocrisy. Do I really need to dig and show all you fuckers bitching about the Air Raid and how you can't have a good defense playing this kind of offense? And how the Big 12 is shit because of this style of team? Now you went full Big 12. :pound:

Yeah, and the guy who won them all is gone. And you hired baby Mike Leach to replace him.

Our defense isn't much worse than anyone else's in this conference. THIS conference. Shit, we were better than texico was last year? Right? Not to mention that the last few games of 2016 featured an Oklahoma with MUCH improved defensive performances.

You cannot focus too much on competing defensively in this conference. If you do then you lose the arms race.

Defensively we can compete.
Offensively, more so.

Don't sing it, bring it.

It's 5:00 p.m.

...and texico suckles, peacefully.

That's a cop out. Somehow you can't compete in the Big 12 with a focus on defense. Even though it's possible in every other conference in America. Problem is Texas isn't producing as many defensive players because of the high school ranks playing hurry up offense too. So it is harder, but not impossible. Especially OU since you guys recruit nationally anyway...

Seriously, show me one offensive hurry up coach competing for championship right now. I can't think of any since Chip Kelly. And I doubt he would today either. Oregon caught lightning in a bottle while the Pac 12 was down. It isn't anymore. USC and Washington don't run 100 plays a game. They keep their defenses fresh. Unlike what we are doing in the Big 12. Which is why we don't have any teams running the table anymore. You can't afford to have a single bad offensive game with that philosophy.

In 2016/Plays Per Game

#5 Texas 85.5 plays per game average
#44 Oklahoma 75 plays per game average.

#42 USC @ 75
#99 Washington @69

Oh
And Houston @ #6 85.3 plays per game average.

Who's running the most plays????
Texas and Tom Herman

@romeo212000 thinks lots of rushing yards = power football. I guess Baylor use to just physically whip teams in their bowls games huh? No?

In the last 4 games of the season, OU limited their opponents to an average of around 20% less yards AND points per game from their season averages.

Defense.

I see a 6 team shootout this year.

OU
OSU
WVU
TCU
Texas
KState

All mixing it up. All have potential to win it, all have some big time questions to answer and those will only get answered when the games begin. At this point nobody knows shizza about what to expect.

Cant wait!

Here
Let me help you out.

OU = Will be kicking your ass
OSU = Overhyped as usual.
WVU = Lost everyone/has a reject SEC QB
TCU = Kenny Thrill won't be thrillin' nobody
Texas = They just hired a 4 loss coach
KState = Out of respect/maybe

Anything else I can clear up.
6 team race???

Whoops. So much for that 100% baseless claim.

:L Sterlin Gilbert isn't here anymore. Here is a comparison of what both did as offensive coordinators at FBS schools.

2007-2008

Tom Herman 79.1 (Rice)

2008-2009

Tom Herman 76.5 (Rice)

2009-2010

Tom Herman 70.1 (Iowa St)

2010-2011

Lincoln Riley 76.8 (East Carolina)
Tom Herman 71.5 (Iowa St)

2011-2012

Lincoln Riley 79.0 (East Carolina)
Tom Herman 80.6 (Iowa St)

2012-2013

Lincoln Riley 74.6 (East Carolina)
Tom Herman 72.1 (Ohio St)

2013-2014

Lincoln Riley 81.7 (East Carolina)
Tom Herman 72.8 (Ohio St)

2014-2015

Lincoln Riley 85.5 (East Carolina)
Tom Herman 74.4 (Ohio St)

2015-2016

Lincoln Riley 81.1 (Oklahoma)

2016-2017

Lincoln Riley 75.2 (Oklahoma)

Yeah, and you had a defensive head coach then too.

And in any case, Riley never exceeds 85.5 plays for game in the highest year. Certainly not approaching 100, and often in the 70's.

NEXT!

So Herman is the exact opposite of what you want.
Good job with that.

Major Applewhite loves the hurry up no huddle. Check out his plays per game as an offensive coordinator.

2006-2007 69.5 (Rice and a different time in football this was still 18th in the country for pace)
2007-2008 75.7 (Alabama, under old school Saban...)
2013-2014 78.5 (Texas)
2015-2016 80.5 (Houston)
2016-2017 85.3 (Houston)

It's increased every single year and does not resemble what Tom Herman did as an offensive coordinator which was decrease almost every single year against the trend in college football.

Our current offensive coordinator.

Tim Beck

2011-2012 71.2 (Nebraska)
2012-2013 77.1 (Nebraska)
2013-2014 75.2 (Nebraska)
2014-2015 75.2 (Nebraska)
2015-2016 70.0 (Ohio St)
2016-2017 78.5 (Ohio St)

That's our play caller now.

Is Riley passing off play calling duties?

Blah Blah Blah
The differences are minimal.
You want to make them out that there is such a significant difference that the Defenses will be light year apart because of no time to rest.

Riley hasn't demonstrated that at all while at Oklahoma

Keep talking baseless shit. It's all you got. We'll see you bitches in October.

I don't have to wait until October to talk shit to you. I don't put my self worth on the line by the success or failure of a college football team. So I'm gonna keep talking regardless of how that game goes.

Not to mention, you really want to make this about something I haven't said so you can gloat in October. I don't believe we beat you this year. It's gonna take Herman until year 3 in my eyes before I'm confident we win. Maybe year 2 depending upon lots of factors.

Let me clear it up for my window licking OU friends:

Bob Stoops is gone, you AINT the big dog in the conference anymore because of it and Texas, WVU ,KSU, OSU, and TCU ( the contenders along with OU ) ALL have solid returning players and ALL have a FAR better HC than you have PLUS the rest of the OU staff will be looking over their shoulders this year as changes will no doubt be coming in those spots come winter time, possibly all of them should things go south this year in an improved Big12 .

The bottom line is this boys, y'all just took a big step backwards a few weeks ago, OU is just another Big12 team tryna find its way now. It was a nice run for ole Stoops, he was a dandy, and now its over.

Welcome to reality, now earn ya keep, you aint sh*t til ya actually DO something without Bob Stoops.

...there are a few people out there who think the Lincoln Riley is going to be the guy to hit that "next level"....i.e. run Saban off.

There are some people out there that think that when Mayfield is gone, LR is going to be hurting.

If Bob Stoops was willing to give up the reins to a guy, and do so ensuring that the university where he has worked for so long retains said guy....don't you think that guy may be something special? Would Stoops know?

Donghorns better be eating their vitamins and saying their prayers brother....
