Just realized that Ben Gamel is just a couple games away from qualifying, and his BA is higher.

Cashman gave him to the Mariners for nothing

Not his most shining moment

Small sample size. He doesn't hit the ball hard enough to maintain anything close to this.

And also, yes I'm excited. I'm a baseball fan first and foremost and Judge is a freak. As long as this doesn't change:

I say keep mashing Judge.

The most impressive thing about Judge IMO is that throughout this dog shit run for the Yankees, he really hasnt changed his approach and tried to do too much.......Still drawing his walks, still not chasing, still hitting

But Bellinger is 21, Judge is 25. I think Bellinger will be better down the road.

Very possible.......I guess we will have to wait and see if Judge is really a .330 hitter, because I dont expect that from Bellinger

Judge will break down, physically, WAY before Bellinger. Successful hitting giants are few and far between. They break down, or their huge strike zone/massive swing catch up to them eventually.

Bellinger has the HOF as a possibility. Judge has almost no chance.

Avi...

Rick Renteria, so he can be the first ever manager ejected from the ASG. (Had three ejections in six games heading into last night)

Bellinger also will likely regress against LHP.

It's very rare that a left handed hitter would keep up reverse splits versus southpaws. The sample size has just been too small, and his minor league numbers show that more AB's should come with regression in that area.

Judge just hammers both sides without a problem.

Bellinger has a huge, long swing... and will never hit for average.

This has to be the most ridiculous post I have ever read, on any message board.

Bellinger is 6'4... Judge is 6'7... Giancarlo Stanton is 6'6... Frank Thomas was 6'5... Dave Winfield was 6'6... Frank Howard was 6'7... Darryl Strawberry was 6'6... Adam Dunn was 6'6... Dave Kingman was 6'6...

Yeah, but Judge has "almost no chance"... but Bellinger does, since he's 3 inches shorter... and stuff. WTF? lol

It's the most ludicrous post I've ever read. Frank Thomas, Dave Winfield, Giancarlo, Strawberry, Kingman...

And Bellinger is 6'4.

Nothing irritates me more than people stating an opinion, or wishful thoughts, as a total fact, especially when it speaks against history and basic common sense

Its cool, he is an NL West fan, and probably doesnt like the Yankees, but to state that as complete fact, just silliness

Let me also clarify that Judge will also have his share of normalization with his numbers. However, there's not really any regression to expect from him splits wise, and his swing is much different than Bellinger's. Bellinger has a classic left-handed home run swing. Long, huge extension, huge finish... Judge's stride and swing path is honestly short, and everything is quite elementary. He just let's his freakish strength do the work for him.

Especially considering a big reason why "giant" sluggers are few and far between... is because 6'7 human beings are few and far between. Then factor in how many of those are coordinated enough to play baseball.
