Why should he leave? He's set for life and has the only secure head coaching job in history. His boss loves him no matter what he does. He'd be an idiot to leave. He has a license to steal for chrissakes.

Last time his contract was just about up, his agent was trying to find deals with other teams. I would assume that will happen again.

I will also assume that sooner or later, some other owner will be stupid enough to want him. This is the same league that has hired Wade Phillips and Dick Jauron on multiple occasions.

Of course his agent was shopping him around. That is what you pay an agent to do...get you the best contract available. If there is another team out there willing to steal you away, you can get the Bengals to pay more money to keep you. If his agent wasn't (and isn't now or soon) shopping him around, he should fire his agent.

I completely agree. Though, I think Marvin would leave if given a serious chance. Even though he has it made here, he is arrogant enough to believe he'd be a rousing success with another franchise.

He's the Tim Tebow of Head Coaches, he might have some intangible talent to get a team from last place to 2nd place, but everyone knows he'll never be first place.

Sounds like Zim is the new coach of the Vikings, per Adam Schefter

It's looking like a good bet that he's getting the job.

But I think it's premature to believe he's taking Guenther with him. The Bengals hold all the cards here....If they want Guenther, he'll stay. If they want Jimmy, he'll leave.

Jimmy had 2 top 10 defenses in TN before he took the Detroit job....Dont look as his body of work as a HC...Not saying you specificly...IJS.

Agreed.

A lot of very good Coordinators struggle as HC.

It happens. Coslet was a pretty good OC, and Dick a great DC...neither did jack as a HC. Granted, it was here, with the 90's Bengals, but....

You would think that Minnesota would have a bad taste in their mouth from hiring our DC's as their HC's.

Oh well.

I'd be pleased with Jimmy. He's a good defensive coach and he doesn't mind thugs so he and Mike Brown would probably get along.

I guess one bright side is that the Bengals don't have to worry about playing against Zimmer for four years.

Unless, of course, both teams make the Superbowl before then.:laugh3:
