Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, Pavel Datsyuk, Alexei Kovalev... wait, something's not right.

Yup, the first three guys in the above list combine talent with hard work...

How dare you question Kovy's work ethic?! He's not lazy, he's just always tired!

Just a little extra from a huge interview with Bryz (I'll translate it later, if anyone cares and I have time)

Russian Gazette: You became a goalie for Flyers - a team where Russians are not liked. Zherdev complained they "choked" him there. Aren't you worried?

Bryzgalov: Lets see - they had Zherdev and Bobrovsky there. And they speak highly about Bobrovsky. They don't care about your passport, they care about the way you do your job, how you do what they pay you to do. They watch how you get along with teammates, how you behave. And based on that build the relations.
If you are a good guy doing your job they are going to like you, foreigner or not.

Notice how he mentioned Zherdev only once?
Now that's a polite way to call someone a headcase :)

Agreed and thanks for the translation. I was half-expecting to see him simply call Zherdev out, but Bryz is too classy for that. ;)

Its surprising the number on NHL players who will mention Kovalev in the short list of the most talented players they have ever seen.

he's forever in my good books for this:

here's a display of his wizardry (with no one checking him of course):

Kent Nilsson also is mentioned frequently on the most talented list - Too bad 'The Magic Man' often disappeared in the playoffs.
