I'd guess he was done anyhow. Contract was up and he was already a waiver claim last season.

Eh, the guy only played 23 games for the Sabres since they picked him up off waivers back on January 3rd, and his missed a ton of time due to a back injury.

I really don't see the Sabres interested in keeping him on the team next Season.

2012 playoffs, first round, guy single handeldly killed the Rangers on draws. Guy couldn't lose.

That's an overrated asset though. It's just another 50-50 puck battle, and there are a lot more of those between the whistles than there are draws.

He's probably just one of those players that has to win the battles because he's not really gifted - you can teach players to win more battles on faceoffs, that's what it comes down to

Sure, I'm just saying that it's way more valuable if a guy can win battles between the whistles because during the course of a game there are a lot more of those. Plus even the worst faceoff guys in the league still win 4 out of 10, the difference on average between the best and worst faceoff guy over the course of a single game is maybe 2 faceoffs or so.
