They had been consistently high until this season. I believe one reason for it is many fans are upset about players showing disrespect for the flag during the national anthem.

That has nothing to do with me being barely interested in the NFL this year.

Well I believe you're wrong, I can't see how that can drive fans away. Not saying it's impossible and it didn't drive away a few fans, but I don't think it would drive away a measurable count.
I think you underestimate how this can have an adverse affect on the game.

If that means fans getting together and drinking and laughing at cowboy? What the hell. Are you available?

I'm in Dallas.

And it was just the "lie to the wife" part that gave me a chuckle.

Very interesting... :rolleyes2:

Its just hard to sit down and watch a random MNF game when 20% of the game is some zebra announcing some penalty.

Oakland was penalized some record number of times last week... and that was just accepted penalties. That game had to be brutal to watch.

Zek's 60 yard run being called back on some phantom hold last week was just fucking stupid.

At this point watching football is part watching the game and part looking for the yell symbol to pop up on the screen that a flag has been thrown so what you just saw is negated.

I agree that there are an excessive number of penalty flags being thrown. Roger Goodell must think the fans go to games to watch the refs steal the show.

I've often thought how great it would be to actually meet some of my fellow hooplians. Figured a long time ago if I ever make it back to a Cowboys game I will see who's all going so we can at least shake hands. Maybe when the Raiders get to Vegas opportunities will present itself.

I typed it to be funny, thought it was strange, deleted it, then said WTF, it's a joke so I typed it again.

Opinions are everywhere. I haven't talked to one person who has said their not watching because if Kap and/or the protests. By the way, I work with the USAF, and the protests aren't even discussed at work. Non issue at least to me.

I was watching less early in the season when it was talked about a lot more. I watch sports to avoid the debates and get away from all that politics shit. The last thing I need to listen to are the reasons some multi-millionaire feels he and those of his race can't get a fair shake.

The NFL hasn't broadcasted regular season national anthems for years. And nobody even noticed Until the protests.

I have a unique ability to ignore what I don't want to listen to. I said my piece early on then forgot about it.

Hmmmmm, I think I hear the wife calling?????

Maybe not, I find out later when I go upstairs.

agreed, but the announcers would talk about it in the game. A memo must have gone around to stop talking about it, because finally it's dying down.

Actually I can't remember what news I saw that was talking about ratings ( has nothing to do with the flag issues) it was folks are more dialed into the fantasy or redzone stuff, and a lot of folks have cut back on cable services........
