1) Troy Polamalu - Nobody gives more effort on every play
2) Ben Roethlisberger - Very high risk/high reward (Still hate the guy)
3) Deion Sanders - Prime Time
4) Barry Sanders - His vision may be the best of any player when he has the ball
5) Jerome Bettis - I remember numerous plays in which four or five would pile on and he'd still be moving forward.

Honorable Mentions: Peyton Manning, Reggie White, John Elway, Devin Hester

It's funny, I was purposely trying to think of players that weren't on the Steelers, but the three on my list were one-of-a-kind on the excitement meter to me.

Apparently. Yowza.

Brown was incredible. He was as big as the defensive linemen of his day, and as fast as the fastest defensive backs. Every once in a while you get a chance to see historical film of him on ESPN . Take advantage, he will blow you away.

Might as well go ahead and take advantage of the media capability and show you why these are my top 5. I loved the big hits by Lott and Atwater, so they're my tied #3.

I threw him an honorable mention. The only tough thing there is that there have a lot of great kick returners. I guess it's just me.

I would put Gale Sayers in that category as well.

I can see it. He's a little before my time, so I'm only familiar with highlights. I remember waiting for when Barry would be handed the ball.
