This team has had pretty good comraderie and everyone knows this season could very well be the end of the road for some stalwarts. The "free and easy" feeling of a couple of years ago, with a "shiny new manager" and contract concerns for some key players was still "years away". They could play loose, have fun, no huge expectations because they'd been terrible before that...
But now, here we are. There are expectations. Contracts are just about up for a few big pieces. That "free and easy" feeling isn't flowing like it was... because they care. They like the clubhouse like it is. And this could be the last incarnation of that.. this year. And it's bothering them.
That idea has been creeping up on me for the past few weeks, but it's almost June now, and it's time for me to voice that opinion.
