NBA announced today you can now buy individual games for 6.99. You can also buy a season long pass for one team for 120 dollars. The catch is it has to be out of market. So like a Miami fan living in Miami can't buy it but if the Miami fan lived in Chicago, they can. Anybody thinking of doing this? I'm debating it since I usually use "internet magic" to view the non TNT/ESPN Lakers games.

I don't need it for Lakers games. But I might do the occasional individual game. Seems like the last couple of seasons there were games that I wanted to watch but couldn't and I'm too cheap to buy the full league pass.

Any fan who buy the individual league pass is really really dumb. Why buy a league pass to see 70 or so games for one particular team (depending on National TV games they have) for $120 when I can see every team in the league for just $80 more? Anyone who does that is truly not a fan of the sport.

Yeah, but that 80 bucks is like 4 cases of beer. 4 cases of beer > random Jazz vs Hornets game in late January

I have league pass through Direct TV and love it.

That being said, there are some fully loaded android boxes that can be bought for around 100. on Amazon.
They get you just about everything from live sports to newly released movies for free.
Might not be quite the same quality of stream, but it's def not bad.

I live in Kentucky and I'm a diehard Spurs fan, so...I'll definitely think about that.

The price for the league pass over here is close to $260 for the season.

I like the flexibility...I just watch what feeds I get via comcast in terms of NBA these days, but in the NFL...this would be perfect...I dumped DTV b/c I only had it for the NFL tkt and the cost just got too high to catch 8 or 9 games not on national or regional TV...being able to pay for those individually for $10 or so would work....I'm going to trust this streaming option for this season.

I wouldnt have time to watch all the Cavs games anyway. They show a lot of their games on TNT/ESPN/ABC.

As a cheap SOB, 7 bucks for a single game seems like a rip off to me.

I was going to get League pass last year because the standard cable package doesn't included the station that airs my hometown team. Just before I ordered I read the fine details and found out that you can NOT get local games via league pass.

I wonder if the new stuff they are adding will change that.

80 bucks is one night of drinking for me. It used to be a lot more than that...

I don't see how anyone would spring for a one team league pass. If I wasn't able to catch local broadcasts of the Warriors game, it wouldn't make sense to me to buy the league pass just for them. I'd rather spring for the extra money for the full league pass. There are just so many fun teams out there to watch.

Top 5 teams I'd want to watch out of market:

Pelicans
Thunder
T-Wolves
Bucks
Suns

Exactly. The league pass is amazing if you're a true basketball fan. So many fun teams and players you can watch

No offense but your cable package is shit if it does not include the station which shows your hometown team games. Change that ASAP

I bought league pass a few years ago to catch all the Miami games but being on the west coast (and work) I missed basically every Heat game on weekdays so at the end of the day it wasn't worth it.

I like the idea of being able to buy individual games if I'm having people over and we want to watch a specific game that isn't televised on TNT or ESPN.
