Then McMahon didn't have a line of Succession. Basically he was running the XFL and WWE.

Now: There is a 3 person line behind him. Not only that, 2 of which have put on a good product. He can afford to step back and have others run it. It is good hands.

Case in point. Vince, who normally travels to the shows, was not in St. Paul or Sioux Falls, sites of Raw and Smackdown Live respectively. He was getting ready for this.

He, unlike 2000, can put his full attention on the XFL.

Not to mention their is a small hatred, by others not me, of the direction the NFL is going.

At the end of the day, the product has to be compelling. There aren’t enough good quarterbacks to stock the NFL, so not sure we’re gonna get out of this league. The AAF was alright, but the quality of play kinda sucked. It was like watching college football without the passionate fans. Due to the nature of the league, anyone good is going to want to defect to NFL if they can, so I don’t know how you sustain interest.

The quality of quarterback play really held the AAF back. Another problem with the AAF was it was too much emphasis on defense and hitting, which football use to be to be honest. But nowadays fans like to watch 54-51 shootouts with invincible penalties. It's just the way it is.

If the XFL can at least identity whats a catch, then they'll keep my attention span.

While we are discussing team names, can we all agree there has to be some geographical consistency and/or relevance to team names? I drove by a middle school near my house yesterday and they had a banner welcoming back the “Seahawks”. I live in north Texas. There isn’t a fucking sea within 500 miles. Might as well call them the fucking penguins.
