I think ECU wanted to do another home and home but Luck backed out of that and filled it with a one a done game against GA SO. I just like the fact he is starting to schedule big games like this with closer tougher competition.

Tenn-WVU in Charlotte, then it is also rumored Mississippi/WVU in Nashville.

The Georgia Southern game is over a year away. Are all mid-majors locked into 12 game schedules for the '15 season?

not sure, but maybe all the ones willing to come to Morgantown are busy.....lol

We do play Michigan ST and Maryland that year, maybe he just wanted that cup cake.

I thought we were replacing Towson with Michigan St this year....

The Charleston Gazette | Tennessee, Virginia Tech seem on WVU football horizon

I am confused by Luck's comments. He says WVU will play more of an NFL like schedule in the future. That is why the series with ECU has been changed.

Then he schedules Georgia Southern for 2015 to take the place of ECU…

Could be for several reasons...the simple one is that all FBS teams will still have a FCS team on its schedule and if you play in the Big 12 its assured!...also as conferences are still in flux contractual games, like the example of ECU have to be re-negotiated...its unlikely Wv wants to buyout games like they did with Florida State any longer..

I know its not convenient for fans...but I like the neutral site games...as long as they are against good opponents..if a school is being asked by a network to particpate it tells you about thier street cred!..

I think it is as awesome as well, and for the most part these games have been pretty easy to get to so far....the game in Atlanta will be the furthest to date. Charlotte, DC, Nashville, should be pretty easy for most WVU fans to travel.

In 2015, does WVU have 2 FCS schools on its schedule? Liberty and Georgia Southern?

I really hope that some teams get burned in the playoff system by strength of schedule. Putting these FCS teams on your schedule is really a big waste. We should just call them exhibition games and not have them count as wins.

So, I have read that Georgia Southern is moving up to FBS. Still... a very weak OOC in 2015.

Charlotte will be a MONSTER game with UT, for southern WV folk the drive time is about the same as going to Morgantown and NC has about 1 gazillion WV transplants in it.. Dream come true matchup for me, bring on the EER BOWL!!! :yahoo::suds::yes::yes:

I am way behind, I did not realize we dropped the series with Michigan St.

They worked out of it at the same time they were buying out of the FSU games, just it was not as well publicized because it was farther out.

Loks like 2015 might be are last bad season of OOC games...watch we will go 11-1 but our SOS will keep us out of the final 4....

I do not see how WVU would be in it anyway, with a committee picking the teams, name will be even more important than ever! They would likely pick two loss SEC teams, OSU, a three loss ND or UM over a one loss WVU anyway. MAYBE even over an undefeated WVU team.:gaah:
