Well, A portion of people don't care who plays what and another group insists that that only those meeting the characteristics of the source material should portray the character. Both of those groups are being intellectually honest, so no harm in keeping that stance regardless of who is cast. At least they're not hypocrites when it comes to their own views. OTOH, we see a certain group cheer a the casting a black man as Jefferson, but then be outraged when a straight woman plays a trans person.

I get there was a lack of representation in Hollywood of non-white people for a loonnnnggg time so some people are sensitive to that. But there shouldn't be anything wrong with white person playing a POC role any more than a POC person playing a white role. Hopefully situations like Hamilton and Anne Boleyn will send a signal to Hollywood that it's fine to challenge preconceptions as long as you are doing it for a reason. Honestly, I have no idea why Anne Boleyn is being portrayed by a black person so its possible that they don't have a good reason. But I thought that Hamilton DID have a good reason.
