WTF is up with starting game threads before Saturday?

OD did it nearly a week in advance with Oregon I saw, a couple of people were like ugh stop. Then others started doing it.

I think there must be some kind of pride thing with starting the thread or something.

Should be started Monday, 5 games before the game. One forum I go to always does this and it is much better than the forums that don't start them until the last second. It is not like this is a high activity board and it is fun talking about the game all week not just the day of

Why start a game thread a full month in advance?

Maybe we need official "pre-game" threads for all the trolling leading up to the game.
