Im trying to get into this WC but it simply isnt overly exciting. To be honest I usually root for USA to lose in certain situations like in Basketball in the Olympics. It's not that Im anti American but its hard to root for us in Basketball with these INCREDIBLE egos.

If we used college guys in the Olympics I'd definitely root for the US though.

If we used college guys in the Olympics we would lose...So college guys don't have ego? The only difference is NBA guys have money so their ego manifest themselves more IMO. I will never root against the U.S.A. Never I don't care if its Hop Scotch:yahoo:

Naw... I still have to root for the NBA star players to lose in Olympic basketball. Its funny to see them lose. I enjoy laughing at the NBA stars more then I enjoy them winning.

So how much longer do I need to hear non soccer people talk soccer?

I'm not a soccer guy manster but I'm not a bobsled, curling or 400 meter relay guy either but when the red white and blue are on I'm watching.

And as a cubs fan baseball isn't an option this year.:L

Step 1: Don't click on a thread called "World Cup"

LOL...good point that those not into the World Cup seemingly haven't grasped. It's not like it's a big story or anything.

Even with the Olympics I don't get overly drawn into many of the events I honestly have not watched more than 10 minutes of curling in my life. The only reason I didn't say zero minutes is because ESPN sneaked in highlights over the years.

I see what your saying. I watched the 1st 2 games they played because the times est were 6pm on a Monday ( not much else on) and Sunday at 6pm again not much on.I have never gone out of my way to watch a soccer game or anything else Olympic related except hockey but if it's on and nothing else is I'll watch.

As for the cubs good times are just around the corner I hope.

I took a long lunch and went to the Buffalo Wild Wings down the street yesterday and watched it. Place was packed and I mean packed. Glad I went, but I certainly get why others wouldn't bother. Germany is probably the best team IMO, so even though we were thoroughly outplayed by them, hanging in their most of the game shows we could still win another game or two if we play well.

I thought we were outplayed by Ghana as well. Havent seen much out of Bradley yet. I keep hearing he is a dynamic playmaker- not necessarily a goal scorer - but good at setting others up.
