They have a different OC this year and while it was 65%, the roles were clear. Freeman had a lot of big runs last year and Coleman was a third down back.

There is a very simple way to prove the answer tho the Freeman Coleman debate. ..boxscores.. touches and snap counts

For instance. . week one, Freeman 55% of snaps, Coleman, 49. Freeman 15 touches, Coleman 14.

I'm not going to do this for all 16 games but it doesn't take a genius to recall that every game they both played in was very similar.

I thought the negotiations went rather well, no threats from either side. I don't think the Falcons have had any negotiations with Coleman, least not that I have heard. Pretty clear who the Falcons consider important, Freeman and he'll dominate the touches.
There was no need to negotiate with Coleman, he wasnt going into a contact year. The fact they extended Freeman and not Coleman is pretty irrelevant. And if they wish to keep that machine purring, they'll still be splitting touches regardless of who's getting the big bucks

Coleman was more than a 3rd down back. Not sure how you can make that statement.
