With how both conference finals have gone, does anyone still want to dispute the value of playing at home?

Bueller?

Bueller?

I am on the side that HCA is pretty important, but I think Health is the much bigger story in the SA/OKC series.

Refs are the biggest story in the IND/MIA series...which did seem to favor IND at home quite a bit.

I think we don't know this until we see a full strength OKC on the road tonight.

How does this series show anything?

We have no data how the Thunder would have performed versus SA with Harden.

It is ridiculous.

Maybe with Harden, they go 73-9....never get taken to game 7 versus a 7 seed.....

Harden is an all-NBA player who is more valuable overall.

Ibaka has a specific limited skillset that (while matching up well vs SA) is nowhere near as versatile.
Ibaka will be less than completely and utterly useless versus Indiana.
Ibaka will be marginalized more versus Miami.

Harden excels versus SA.
Harden would be an Indiana killer.
Harden would have issues with Miami.

Yet your going to conclude that Harden is more valuable? Ibaka has clearly shown his worth to the Thunder these last two games.

If there was a dispersal draft.
Harden would be taken 100 times out of 100 over Ibaka by every GM in the league.

IBAKA has a skillset that is perfect for playing San Antonio.
That doesn't mean he is a better overall player.

The Thunder don't always play the Spurs in every round.
Harden is a far more overall value player.

Heck, Indiana has a center in Hibbert that (Usually) tends to dominate Miami.
It doesn't mean he is some superior talent versus everyone else.

You ain't kidding.

There's not a chance in hell LeBron has 5 fouls in a playoff game played in Miami. Not a chance in hell.

This isn't a case of who would be taken over who in a draft. It's about value to a team. Ibaka isn't only effective against San Antonio.

Very solid points.

But what if you were doing a draft and you already had Durant and Westbrook on your team. Are those GMs still going Harden over Ibaka? It makes the question a bit tougher I think.

I guess now we have a better idea. maybe home court is more important than Serge.
