Wins versus Top 25 teams

Got into a debate on twitter about quality wins specifically about wins vs top 25 teams. While I was using the current CFP Top 25 poll he was going with the "when they played" argument. So which is the should be used when debating this, when they played or current?

Well they are just twisting rankings to make a better resume, when they don't even have to. The only team with a resume that can compare to Alabama is Oklahoma. Strange.

They have to twist things. Their wins over ranked teams are just lsu and Wisconsin. They're probably trying to make it seem like they beat a lot of high quality opponents when in actuality they beat a lot of above average teams and no top tier teams

Nah. They don't. There's only a few trolls doing that. Actually, I've only seen one doing that here. The rest don't even give a fuck. They know they're in.

What is an average team? what is an above average team? What is a quality win? I am needing clarification so that we have number values placed on them. Win totals for each classification please.

Current is the only thing that matters, and if you are going by the Weekly Vomit Polls (college football playoff) wait till the end of the year to make an argument because their weekly poll is a dumpster fire. Remember how great Alabama's win vs LSU looked when the Tigers were ranked #2? Do you really think saying that win should still count as a win vs the #2 after losing 3 straight by double digits? At the time of is the absolute worst argument.
