Like @Manster7588 said, If any team is tanking to land a top QB in the draft, it's the Jets. They're not even trying to hide it.

I have a hard time believing he will return, but I haven't paid attention.
Lots of players stay in school another year even though they were projected to be the 1st overall pick. Heath Shuler, Peyton Manning, Matt Leinart, Sam Bradford, Andrew Luck, all did.

He's not a very good quarterback .... The last QB worth a top 5 pick was in 2008. Can was probably worth a top 10 as was Luck but that's it. He's no different . I'd rather have Wentz

Sam Darnold is nice, but he's a little overhyped IMO. Would rather have the guy out of Wyoming

Darnold is the Myles Garrett of next year's draft in that his measurables are great but most of his numbers came vs shit teams. Other than PSU Darnold was average to bad vs the good teams on USCs schedule. Now he was only a freshman so that could change but right now he's hype without substance . Difference is he has time to change that . Garrett is going to bust like it's no one's business

With hindsight as your guide, which players would you have drafted before Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson in 2012?

QB search: Sam Darnold 'jumps' field as Jets inch closer to top pick

1. Sam Darnold, USC.
This was his second "off" game in three weeks, but he showed his mental toughness in crunch time, rallying the Trojans to a dramatic 27-24 win over Texas in double overtime. He delivered a signature play -- an incredible jump pass late in the fourth quarter -- enhancing his reputation as a cool customer. His poise was admirable, but there were a couple of hiccups. He completed 28 of 49 passes for 397 yards and three touchdowns. He threw two interceptions, but one wasn't his fault. The Heisman hopeful isn't having a great year, but he keeps winning. Up next: At Cal.

2. Josh Rosen, UCLA. He continued to rack up video-game numbers (34-for-56, 463 yards, four touchdowns), but his gunslinger mentality put his team in trouble. He threw two costly interceptions, including one in the red zone, as the Bruins were stunned on the road -- a 48-45 loss to Memphis. Rosen also was called for two intentional grounding penalties. Afterward, he admitted he needs to be smarter with the football. Basically, he's running a one-man show, getting no help from the running game. Up next: At Stanford.

3. Josh Allen, Wyoming. Let's be honest: Allen, considered by some scouts as the quarterback with the greatest upside, is having a disappointing year. In his second and perhaps final game against a Power 5 opponent, Allen played horribly in a 49-13 loss to Oregon. With scouts from 16 NFL teams in attendance, he completed only nine of 24 passes for 64 yards. He also suffered an ankle injury on the final play of the game. From now until the draft, assuming he declares, Allen will be hounded by questions about his struggles against top competition. Up next: Vs. Hawaii.

Not sure if you watched the UCLA-Memphis game. Very entertaining but beyond the pick 6 there was no defense in that game (for either team) which kind of makes the numbers a little misleading. Rosen is definitely going to have to change the mindset or he likely will have a very difficult time in the NFL.
