To be fair Penn State, Marshall and among others Syracuse do the "We are...." cheer so it's not just a southern thing.

What do you want from a region with half a dozen Tigers and an assload of Bulldogs. Thankfully there are too many syllables in our team name or some of our morons would be doing it too.

do the same freaking cheer? I was watching the Tenn/Mercer game yesterday, and could hear the Tenn fans chanting

"IT'S GREAT. TO BE. A TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER"

I've heard this same chant (Its great. To be. A ______ ______) by Tenn fans, Florida fans, LSU fans, and not limiting to the SEC, Miami fans.

Seems dumb if everyone is doing it. But I suppose it's at least not Rocky Top.

You sure Miami even has fans?

I think half the crowd chanting Ala.... then the other chanting Bama is on the same level as that chant. Honestly though how many chants aren't stupid in general? It is so easy to make fun of other schools chants. Every team pretty much has half the crowd saying "Go (insert generic mascot)". It is all pretty stupid.

It's great to be a Gator Hater.

I was a Pierce County High School Bear fan and nothing was worse than to be a Ware County High School Gator fan.

Or a Waycross Bulldog fan. But Bulldog doesn't rhyme with Hater.

The best cheer ever….

"We don't smoke, we don't drink, Norfolk, Norfolk, Norfolk State!"

Sorry, best cheer ever was Morehead State, back in the day(don't know if they still do it). "We..Want..More..Head".

yea, we do the ole "CLEMSON" on the South side and then "TIGERS" from the North Side. Or we'll do "ORANGE" and "WHITE."

We did do a cool one for CJ Spiller for his last home game. At least I thought it was cool. I know it's a team sport, but the kid was special.

Biggest fairweather fans in the country. My apologizes to the faithful ones on this board but I know even they know it is true. Look at their stands a decade ago then look at some of the crowds in recent years.

Its interesting how every once in a while these musical numbers start to be played at almost every sporting event and somehow they become every teams theme.

One started back in the 90's and I have no idea how to describe it but at the end people would chant some variety of "We're going to beat the ****** out of you"

Over the last several years its been 7 nations Army that everyone plays.

It s just weird that certain songs spread through out sports.

Oh, you mean the most annoying and unoriginal thing a crowd can do, save for maybe 'the wave?'

"Neck" has seemed to catch on very recently and spread like wildfire.
