Why do so many expert analysts have the Giants taking Scherff?

Is their offensive line so much worse than ours?
They pick 9th, so is that the cut off to start taking a guard? Or do the Gmen plan on using him at tackle at least for a while?

Is it that these experts are used to us taking edge rushers?
Do they think the Giants fit the mold for the tough offensive lineman like Scherff?

Seems like a lot of conditioned brains out there.
Well, they can think whatever they want. We have a new Football guy in town who might get them to change their way of thinking pretty soon.

First Schreff is an OT although some people say he might be a better fit at Guard. In any case like us, the Giants do need both at present. While many here and in other sites speculate that he isnt worthy of a top five or even a top ten pick, how many times have we seen guys deemed not worthy out perform their eventual draft position??

There are a lot of questions around Schreff. First is where he can play. Second is his combine performance. It wasn't great. This all leads to legitimate questions if he is worth a top 10 pick. We can't afford another whiff with this pick. If we can trade back, he comes into play.

He has played mostly Tackle. He can help a team at either Tackle or Guard. We can plug him in at RT or either Guard right now. So top 9 is ok in over 50 percent of the mocks?

So the real question becomes, would he be a reach at 5?? I dont think so, but then again IM a bit biased on this one.

This might be a classic example of drafting for need which can be risky. Scot has already said is is taking BPA reagardless of position. I don't see us taking him at 5.
